My DH and I are considering a quick weekend trip to Orlando the first weekend in December for our 10th anniversary. Does anyone know if the stores in WS in Epcot carry special merchandise for the holidays? I thought we might be able to find some unique things for the holidays.

Some do, some don't. Depends on the country. In UK and Canada, for example, you can find lots of "Father Christmas" and Santa Claus stuff, as well as reindeer-motif clothing and gifts and special gingerbread teas and cookies. Stuff like that.

In places like Morocco, Japan and China -- where Christmas isn't the same type of holiday it is in the States -- you won't find as much "holiday" stuff, although they'll have their regular inventory in very attractive holiday displays.

We've been to WDW in December and found Christmas themed merchandise in most shops , with the exceptions that WDsearcher noted. The countries that do carry it theme it to their own special holiday traditions and I have ornaments and small decorations from those countries that are charming and unique. It's fun to put these things out at Christmas and remember your trip to WDW.

This is great to hear...I will be there for the first time in December and I am really looking forward to the holiday displays, decorations, and merchandise in the WS.
Does anyone have any favorites or must sees?

One of the countries has a year-round Xmas store, as well - I think it's Germany???

I think a unique Christmas ornament would be in Germany, the Christmas pickle ornament. Ask for the legend of the Christmas pickle, then have fun explaining to visitors why you have a pickle ornament on your Christmas tree.
