Well, It's been 3 years since we were last at Epcot. (Went to DL last year instead).

I am looking at a recent map of EPCOT and to my horror.......I don't see anything about Ice Station Cool! Where did it go? Is it gone? How will I survive the 90+ heat without that Watermelon flavored soda from China? How will I trick my 10 year old into drinking Beverly?

This could be the worst thing to happen since they got rid of the original Figment and dreamfinder.

Please DIS'ers, please confirm that Ice Station Cool is still there, or else I may have to break down and BUY sodas for my family.:rotfl2:

Great to hear it's still there!

Now I can use the money I was budgeting to BUY sodas to buy pins instead.:rotfl2:

When we went to Epcot a couple of weeks ago we found the Station Cool without any problems. Of course I got DD and DH to try Beverly. DH wouldn't let me take a picture, but DD was another story.

Her favorite was the Watermellon soda and her least favorite is Beverly.:rotfl2:

It's still there ... They took away the "ice" part that you had to walk through, I believe, at least in part, to make it more HC accessible. It's called "Club Cool" now. http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ep/ice.htm
It was handicapped accessible before, so it didn't really need anything to make it accessible. If someone did not want to go thru the ice room for some reason, there was (and still is) a ramp that goes from the 'rear' (pretty much directly opposite the entrance) into the attraction.
We heard a couple of reasons for changing it from CMS; all or none might be true:
  • it was hard to keep the snow from melting
  • too many people slipped on the snow
  • people made snowballs and threw them
  • it was hard to keep the snow where it belonged and out of the shop/attraction area

my DH and kids were really glad that i found out about "club cool" on here before our trip. we went to epcot about 5 times during our trip and had to stop in so DH could get his fill of vegitabeta (japan). my kids really liked the lemon one.

on a side note- i was all prepared for the beverly and... i actually didnt think it was that bad. i wouldnt drink a bottle of it, but i took two or three small sips out of the cup and even tried it again another day to make sure i wasn't crazy.
