So I am trying to set up our FP's for EPCOT and I was able to find a FP for Frozen at 11:20 which is exactly when i wanted it. However, now it wont allow me to get FP for TT or Soarin. We can RD Soarin but I was really counting on a FP for TT. Is this the new norm? Thanks for the help!!

Not new at all.

Because there are not enough rides at Epcot, they have chosen "tiering" as a means of rationing them. You get only one choice from those classified as "tier 1".

I would RD Soarin, try to be in the front of the crowd, then head right away to TT while so many other people are in the FEA standby line. Not idea, but it is what it is.

Epcot FPs are based on a Tier system; you can only choose one Tier 1 ride.

All the rides you've chosen are Tier 1.

All 3 of those are Tier 1 attractions, and you are only allowed to book one tier 1 attraction for your first 3 FP+.

Thank you all for your response. Seems odd to me to make all 3 a Tier 1 ride. You are basically forcing people to either wait in at least 2 lines for a minimum of 60 mins each or arrive at the park 45 mins to an hr before open and still be stuck waiting in at least one line that will likely be close to an hr. With Frozen and Soarin being the 2 "new" rides...it would seem to make sense to pull TT out of Tier 1.

They didn't WANT to make them all Tier 1.

They HAD to make them all Tier 1 (once they rolled out FP+).

They have an attraction capacity problem at Epcot.

Just an FYI, they also have tiers at DHS.

I, myself, miss the long brisk walk to Kilimanjaro, and then the long-brisk(er) walk to Everest! FP+ is nice and all, but something about the Legacy FP I enjoyed more.

I was in the park for two weeks and the Soarin line was over 60 minutes only one time (before the 3rd screen you were looking at 90 minute waits on average). In the evening hours, Soarin was anywhere from 30-45 minutes and Test Track was around 45-60. If you moved TT to Tier 2 the standby line would probably 90 minutes at least a good majority of the day.

Or do what we do and spend 4 days in Epcot :)

Not odd at all, necessary. There are not enough attractions at Epcot to serve the number of guests there. If they allowed you to pick two or three, a small percentage of guests (and all on site) would take ALL the FP+ for the most popular rides. This is not likely to change for a very long time.

The same system is in place at DHS.

It's not so much "forcing" you as it is leveling the playing field. Look what would happen if one could get a FP for all three attractions that you want. At 60 days out, (plus length of ticket), those three attractions would book solid and "sell out". Every single person trying to get a FP inside of 59 days would get shut out and would have to wait in 3 long lines, while several thousand people wouldn't have to wait in any line at all. By tiering those attractions, almost every person in the park will be able to bypass one line and wait in two. Of course, under your proposed system, if you were lucky enough to be one of the few people who got to bypass all three lines, you'd love this. But if you missed out and were one of the many people who had to wait in all three lines, you'd be livid, and might even consider cancelling your trip. Disney doesn't want anyone to be so upset that they consider not going, and instead has created a system where nobody is "livid", and instead, everyone is a little bit frustrated. Universal frustration is a better system overall than one that creates a small subset of elated guests but a majority of peeved guests.

I was hoping they would have FP for the new Frozen ride. Really that is the only ride at Epcot I would get FP for so we should be ok. It would be 2 adults and 2 children will I be able to book a FP for us it should still all count as one ride correct? I just saw the waiting time for it and I was like oh my god that's a long wait we will be there the end of October.

Yes, one ride. You can then use your other FPs on such E-ticket attractions as Figment, Spaceship Earth, and the Mickey/Minnie/Goofy meet-and-greet :)

I suggest booking your Frozen FP on the day you are 60 days out. If you wait the odds of it being gone will be good.

Believe me I planned on that because my daughter said that is one ride she will wait 5 hrs for.. that's why I was hoping for FP
