We are planning to hop from MK to EPCOT for lunch in WS. Is it better to take the monorail (I think it's the monorail) or take a bus from MK to BC and walk over through WS?? We will have DS (age 2) with us.

I don't think either one is that much worse than the other,I would probably go with the bus as it's direct and you'll do a little less walking. For the monorail you have to take two different monorails since you transfer at the TTC and have to walk from the front of Epcot to the WS.The bus is probably better.

Well, if you take the monorail, you'll have to walk through Future World which is a hike if it's hot out. :)

If you get lucky with the bus, I think taking it to the Beach Club then entering through World Showcase would be your best bet.

I've stayed at Beach Club two times and we didn't have any problems with the bus.

Unfortunately I don't know how long either the bus route or the monorail takes.

I think it would be easier to take a stroller on the monorail if bring your own. If you are renting a stroller and you decide to take the bus you can pick up one when you enter Epcot at the International Gateway entrance.

In the best of times, taking the bus to BC is the faster way and I think it makes even more sense now with the MK monorails being down for maintenance during the day.

I would take the Boardwalk Inn/Swolphin bus or the Yacht and Beach Club bus-whichever one comes first.:)

Their bus stops at MK are adjacent.:)

For us it depends. Where in WS are you eating? If you are eating near the Mexico end, we have found it is usually better to take the monorail. It is a shorter walk through FW to that end, than from BC to the International Gatway and all the way around WS. If you are eating on the end down by the International Gateway- the bus to BC is usually better

Also, if your DS happens to be napping when you are going to hop, or you think it might be a good time for him to nap- you will want to take the monorail. You do not have to fold strollers for the monorail you can roll him on and he can continue napping. If you take the bus, you have to fold up the stroller.

Remember that the Monorails running between TTC and MK will be closed between 11:30AM and 7PM every weekday, through March.

In the past could you take a monorail directly from MK to Epcot? For some reason I thought you could, but I am getting older so I digress. Anyway, we'll be going the last week of March. I plan to hop from MK to Epcot around 4pm, on a Tuesday. Will I have to use a bus? I wanted to enter in Future World.

1- Nope. Never.

2- The monorail may be in operation buy that time.
If not, yes a special bus will be the route.

Another way would be to take a Ferry boat from MK to TTC/MK parking and then board the Epcot monorail from TTC.
