Epcot FP+ Watch Thread: Soarin' & Frozen Ride

Everyones talking about FP's for late June... we are booked early June and i vaguely remember hearing of Frozen opening end of April?! Was i dreaming??

See the link below. FEA to open in June - no specific date. Most of the FPs people are taking about getting right now are for Soarin' which will open with the new movie on June 17th.

With the launch of Frozen will WS still not open until 11 am each day? I go late August. Should I FP tier 1 Soarin at the early morning time slots b/c they open first and then get to WS when it opens at 11 and not FP Frozen? If they open WS earlier - how will that affect things being Soarin and Frozen (assuming) are both Tier 1?

We don't know for certain, but IMHO Disney has to open at least Norway at 9 am. The capacity on the M&G and new ride will be low, so they'll need those 2 extra hours of operation. As for how that iwll impact touring, no one is certain at this time. If possible, I'd plan on getting a Frozen FP, and the hitting Soarin' at rope drop and Test Track on single rider, if you're only going for one day. If you're going for 2 days, then FP Frozen on one day and Soarin' on another.

Another possibility may be the Akershus breakfast. We don't know if that group will have an advantage at park open, but I would imagine that they will, since they will be right at Norway.

I have a one day scenario at Epcot for our trip. And in fact I have Akershus breakfast reservations. I would think they would consider WS early opening. I'm so very anxious to get my final plan in place, but I will have to wait a bit longer it seems!

Just checked - MK Anna and Elsa FPs are still not available for June 12th and on right now. Fingers crossed that it means an opening date for Epcot will be coming soon!

And June 11 is the last day on our APs (that we are not renewing). So, yes, it will probably all open on June 12. Unless this is just another push-back date, of course.

So do you think we can safely assume that if I am only there until the 11th that I can officially cancel all my back-up plans (and back-ups of my back-ups) ADRs that I had in place in case I had to try juggling my days for FEA?

I think we can only assume that Anna and Elsa will be at the Magic Kingdom until June 11, even if they happen to start showing up in Epcot before then.

But it's looking like they probably won't start in Epcot before then...

Snagged passes for Anna and Elsa for June 9th! Now just wishing for them to open the ride in Epcot by my last day of my trip - June 12th!

Ugh... the later opening date probably means that they won't open the official FP times until late May... and that's in the 30 day window for my FPs! I was hoping to only have to compete with resort guests for Frozen... ah well, I'll just try and keep an eye on things here.

We arrive on June 12th. We have new Soarin for June 19th...now we will have decisions to make since we will only be in Epcot June 15th and 19th, and I'm guessing FEA, A&E and Soarin' will all be Tier 1

I would suggest getting a FP for the M&G and rope-dropping FEA.

Or you could get FP for M&G and FEA, then rope drop Soarin' (which might be easier, since it's closer to the entrance and has 3 theatres).

We also have two under 40 inches, so I might give up my FP for Soarin and hope for rider swap (my oldest DS and DH keep their FP for Soarin') and use my FP and 3 year olds FP for the meet and greet. On the 19th

I hope it is! I keep waiting for the announcement and opening of FP....

We are there 5/22-5/29. I guess it is a super-long-shot, if not an outright impossibility, that either ride would have a soft opening that early?

And even if it is possible, how do you best position yourself to get in on that - Disney Parks Twitter feed? I've never seen or been part of a soft opening before, so I have no idea.

I just booked New soaring for july 6th
for all those interested A&E FP are an option at MK until july 6th, my DS just doesn't care and DD is not old enough
I am hoping to do FEA, but DS rather do test track and we only have one day planned at Epcot
