We are going to Epcot on Thanksgiving day (this will be our only Epcot day). We want to ride both Soarin and Test Track (and we don't want to do single rider).

What would be the best strategy, FP Soarin and ride TT standby? Or FP TT and Ride Soarin standby? We will be at Epcot at rope drop to get in line as early as possible for whichever ride we decide to do standby.

Soarin has a new theater, which is making the waits a bit shorter. But...Thanksgiving Day.

If you can get in at rope drop I'd go for Soarin first.

We will also be there for Thanksgiving Week.... so, I'd love to hear more insight on this! Sadly, we HAVE to use our Tier 1 on FEA. If we get there early, should we hit TT first then Soarin'? Any strategies? I've put together a plan on TP, but it tells us to hit Soarin' around noon. Is this really a good strategy? The only monkey wrench I've got is an ADR for Akershus at 10:30AM. My other thought is to do everything we can in FW until 1PM and then do WS for the rest of the day. Help!

Probably better to Use FP+ for Test Track and Ride Soarin first thing in the morning. Test Track sometimes opens 10-15 min late which makes the line buildup like crazy. I honestly hate hitting TT at rope drop. Soarin is probably a better choice. Thanksgiving day will definitely increase wait times, but the lines for Soarin I always move fast, and usually its less of a wait than posted. Also another plus to that is if you ride Soarin first, you can ride Living with the Land right after that because that ride can sometimes have long waits.

Test Track is almost always better to use FP+ for, the line takes forever, and if you wait standby you have to go and design a car, which some people have fun doing, but I just think it adds unnecessary extra time to an already long line.

What attractions are you looking to do exactly?

I can help you greatly if you either post here or PM me everything you plan on doing and your ADR's. To be honest I seriously recommend using FP+ for Test Track and not Frozen Ride. Frozen Ride can have really long lines, but since the world showcase opens at 11am, you can ride Frozen when it opens. I think Frozen opens with WS but I could be wrong, maybe it opens at 9am. However regardless I seriously recommend using Tier 1 for TT and riding Frozen standby, you might be able to get an additional FP+ for Frozen that way, but again on thanksgiving week don't count on it.

So just to confirm, PM me or post here your whole plan for the day, and I'll try to tell you the best way to do it. I wouldn't go by TP's advice at all. I also have subscription there and they really screw things up and underestimate wait times completely.

Oh no! Hate to hear that! I've been planning on TP religiously! I'll PM you my plans... Thank you!

I agree with PP to go to Soarin at RD, and FP TT.

If you have a second day/morning to be at Epcot, it makes it a lot easier, as you can FP Frozen for after your ADR(around 12-1), go to Soarin at RD, and then do something else in FW before your ADR if you have time. Then after your ADR and Frozen FP, you can spend time in WS as you mentioned(There is a meet and greet for Anna and Elsa as you may know, so you may want to hit that after the ride if lines are reasonable). Then on 2nd day, you could do TT FP, and do more in FW. Otherwise, with 1 day, it is difficult to do both TT and Soarin without waiting in a long line for one of them. You will have to choose which one is most. impt. to your family, for us it is Soarin, so you can reverse this advise if TT is the one for you! I would get there early for RD(keep in mind it will be busier with the holiday week), and go right to Soarin. When you get off Soarin, you can check wait times for TT, but my guess is it will be at least 40 min. at that point, if not an hr. If it is short enough for you to make your ADR, then you can run over there. There is a single rider line, but probably not good for you if you have little ones(I am guessing with Frozen ride being impt. and Akershus ADR!). If you do have little ones, WS may not be that exciting for them, so maybe plan to walk around for a little while, then head back to FW for your other two FP(maybe Nemo and TT w/Crush maybe around 4?) Keep checking wait times for TT throughout the day. Soarin at noon is not a good idea, unless 3rd theater is really making a difference in wait times. it is usually an hour or more all day long, and has been known to be over 100 min. on busy days.

The other strategy you could try is to go to Frozen at RD(it is open right away) and do that first, since your ADR is right next to it. So you do the ride, go to your ADR, then meet A&E after if you like. Now, you can walk around WS for a little while, then plan your FP for later in the day for Soarin(maybe 3-4;00), and 2 other Tier 2s in FW. You can grab QS dinner at Sunshine Seasons ( next to Soarin). You can keep checking wait times for TT, and if you are planning on staying later but not heading to Illuminations, you could try to head there at the end of the night, when it is often not as long of a wait as many will head to WS for Illuminations. Hope that helps some, as I know it is still a challenge if you only have one day.

Frozen Ever After opens at 9, not 11. It will have at least an hour wait by 10 AM.

OP already sent his/her plans to me. I told the OP to Ride Soarin at rope drop, and then go to Norway to ride Frozen Ever After, because at 10:30am OP has Akershus ADR.

Thanks everyone. We will plan on riding Soarin first thing and getting a FP for TT.

I know its a little last minute for you, but our plan for Soarin and Test Track (our trip is in March) is to try and get a PPO ADR at Garden Grill then do stand by at Soarin (hopefully we are done our breakfast by 8:45AM) and then get a FP for Test Track

That is exactly what I would do.

This is exactly what we did in August! Our server was amazing and "sped things up" so we could ride Soarin' before rope drop. We ended up being the very first ones in line for Soarin and rode it before the park opened! We were already on our way to TT before 9. We then headed to FEA and waited maybe 30 minutes for the ride. It worked out perfectly and we were able to save our fastpasses for HS since we park hopped that day.

So happy that this worked out so well! My hubby, my DS10, and my MIL all want to ride Soarin. I can't ride Soarin bc I have bad vertigo, so I will stay behind with my DS3. I plan to eat at Garden Grill and then send those 3 on Soarin and then take my little guy on Living w/ the Land. Its really a win win situation they have going there, lol

That's a great idea! It's probably too late for me to get an ADR, but I'll keep checking and see if anything opens up. Thanks!
