On our last two or three visits to Epcot the cafe Fountainview has been closed. Does anyone know if this is just temporary or is it closed for good? The do/did wonderful coconut cream pie so i hope its not for good!!
I don't have an answer, but my observations over the past 5 or so years - it hasn't been open one time I've been at EP. I know it's been used for components of the Food & Wine Fest, and possibly the Flower & Garden Fest as well.
From what I have seen over the last few years it has very limited operating hours. The last two years it was the wine tasting bar during the F & W Festival. That may change this year since a lot of the F & W stuff is being moved to the Wonders of Life Pavilion. From what I have seen posted at Fountainview when they are open they seem to open for the morning & close by 1 or 2pm. So you can get your first morning coffee there but if you want any of their baked goodies or sandwiches you need to get there before 1PM. I personally miss the late hours they had in the past. I use to pick up some goodies on my way out of the park at the end of the night. I much preferred their offerings to those found in France and the staff was much friendlier at Fountain View. One of my favorites was a woman named Jolly. She moved over to the Electric Umbrella.
karrit2000, I remember those late night snacks at FV while watching the thundering hoards leaving the parks, stars sparkling, water flowing and nice rest before heading out of the parks.
