Epcot Forever Fastpass

I like to get a fastpass for fireworks at Epcot on every trip but this trip we only have one fastpass day for Epcot. I was thinking that if I made a fastpass for Soarin early in the morning I might be able to get another 1st tier for Epcot Forever that same day. Does this work out for others?

I just took a look right now for a party of 3. It took me about 4-5 minutes of refreshing to find FP's for Epcot Forever. I also plan to get a FP for this when we are there in a couple of weeks but will wait until afternoon/evening to get them so as to not tie up my FP's all day. Of course the earlier you start looking the better your chances.

Have not been to EPCOT since the new show started.
Is a FP even needed? It seemed like it rarely was needed for Illuminations unless you were there during a very busy time.

I've always liked the FP area and FP's were easy to grab even in the last hour leading up to fireworks so I would just get them anyways.

I think it depends what day you are there. I went Saturday and could not get an Epcot Forever fastpass for even one person despite refreshing multiple times in the days before and day of. But the park was very crowded, so....

That being said, it is definitely not necessary. There is an excellent view all around World Showcase.
