I've read posts talking about activities for the kids at the World Showcase. Can anyone provide more info?

There is a great link right here on this site:

Lots of people think that kids will get bored at Epcot but my kids (dd 10 and dd 2) really enjoyed it. It doesn't feel as crowded and the pace is a little more relaxed than the other parks.

My 4 yr old dd who is a little "ride shy" enjoys this park more than MK (which is fine with me:p)

Her favorite thing is seeing the characters and with the character bus stopping by WS at specific times of the day it sure beats waiting in the long lines to see Mickey and Minnie in MK. She's sees them much quicker in EPCOT and she can even see Donald and Daisy sometimes!

Lots of things in FW to do and the mask making in WS is a great way to get them to WANT to visit each country! The older kids have passports that they take around. What a great idea!

Another activity you don't hear much about is the Nestle toll house cookie baking class they have downstairs in the Land Pavillion almost every hr on the half hour. They get a chef's hat (dd's is personalized with Mickey's signature on it from our lunch at GG after we went) and fresh baked cookies!

There are Kidcot Fun Stops in each country where kids can decorate a mask and get the CM from each country to sign it.

My kids loved making that mask. We went to WS the last day, I played it up by asking if they wanted to do arts & crafts. They couldn't wait. At each country, you need to look for the Kidcot station. Just ask if you can't find it, all the CM's know what you're looking for. And if they see you coming with a mask, they'll usually just automatically point you in the right direction.

At the first country, they will give you a cardboard mask on a paint stick. There is a basket with markers for the kids to decorate the mask. At each country, they will stamp the handle with their country's stamp, and attach a paper representative of a toy of that country. Then there will be more markers at each stop as well, for them to continue decorating.

My kids loved this! Each time they didn't want to get up from the table, and they were in a hurry to get to the next one. My ds4 decided his was a bear monster mask, but little like him, lol. He thought it was great fun to roar and scare nonexistent dangers. :p

IMHO Canada had the best station. They read a story to the kids, which was written by a Canadian author. It was "I'll love you forever". I wish I'd bought the book, and probably still will. My ds is still repeating the theme of the book.

I'll Love You Forever.....

that is the BEST book... the one written by Robert Munsch. He's awesome!!! He has a whole giant collection. I heard him tell that story on TV though, it almost made me cry! He sang the part of "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be.." and I can still hear it.

Just a reminiscing moment...

I never can make it all the way through that story without crying. :)

My son also loves Epcot. Don't miss the Living Statues in France; they make for some great pictures of the children. Another Must See is the "candy lady" at Japan (outside Mitsukoshi). This young lady is just amazing, taking a lump of taffy-like candy base and turning it into the most beautiful artwork. She has a list of animals (dragons, flamingos, bears, etc) the children can choose from, and she forms these little works of art. She then puts them on a stick and lets them dry into a hard candy. And....would you believe it?....they're FREE.

Look for her on your Epcot daily schedule and be sure to get there a bit early so you're right up front.

Othe stuff for the kids in WS include a Viking ship in Norway that is actually a play area; a train village in Germany; plus there are several places with character greetings. We saw Pooh in England and Beast was in France.

On the Future World side of Epcot, they might enjoy Food Rocks, Journey into Your Imagination, and Innoventions.
