Epcot Food & Wine- How "All That" Is it?

I'm for sure in the minority but I'm not a huge F&W fan. We have been during F&W twice now, and will be again this October. On our past two trips, I worked it into our plans and planned around the busier times, but still found it exceedingly busy. We all wanted to try different stands, which meant hopping from one line to the next, with no comfortable place to sit and enjoy our samples. The costs also added up. It wasn't worth the hassle to us so we are planning to avoid it this trip. But as I mentioned, I'm in the minority. As you can see, many folks love it and it's their favorite event at WDW. So with that in mind, I think it's worth a stop at least.

We like F&W, but it can get pricey, since the food and alcohol samples are just that- you won't be full from just one or two. The food costs anywhere from $3-7 and the wine/beer/cocktails are even more expensive. We saved up our snack credits from the Dining plan and used them on the food samples to save some $$.

We did a couple of beer tasting seminars (back when they were free) and they were fun. Mostly, though, we just wander around World Showcase, check out all the menus at the different booths, and try things that sound interesting.

My big tip- try to go during the week. Weekend nights get CRAZY crowded. Others have also reported seeing some drunken misbehavior by some, but we have never personally witnessed this.

October used to be our favorite month - low to moderate crowds, warm but not surface of the sun hot, Halloween party. Then came F&WF. Now, the F&WF was pretty awesome the first couple of years. Then the weekends became so crowded that you couldn't walk around the World Showcase. Now the entire event is that way.

Great concept that Disney should do year round, but in this compressed timeframe the crowds keep us away.
