Hello!

I will be going to Disney World Nov 8th - Nov 11th.

I am concerned about the crowds due to Veteran's Day, Jersey Week, the Wine & Dine Marathon, and the Food & Wine Festival.

Just want to know your experiences if you traveled during this time in the past. How did the events affect the crowds and your overall experience?

I would love to try the Food & Wine Festival. I've never been before and I'm scared of the crazy lines for food. I was thinking of trying to go on Monday the 11th Veteran's Day. What do you think???? :earboy2:

I was there in 2010 during those exact dates. We stayed at BC in the Epcot area for its access to WS and F&W. The weather was good and strangely, I expected a "bad crowd" experience but it really didn't happen. It is more crowded on weekends but I never experienced anything close to the crowds like MK during a parade or anything like that. Now, Illumanations was a little ridiculous on the weekend but I was fine and I am claustrophobic in crowds. Well, more like people squished together types of crowds.

One thing to note, F&W will have been around for a while by that time and some of the events locals may attend are over. Also, it was cool at night by November so people dressed for a day in the park would need to go back and dress appropriately for evening. Staying at BC with Parkhoppers, we just came and went as we pleased.

I do have some weekend crowd photos of F&W but haven't figured out how to post them yet.

Remember, these special events are designed to get people to the parks at a time when the typical guests (families with school age children) can't or won't go. So it is a slower time of year. Go to F&W on weekdays and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you for your input! I'm glad you had a pleasant time and I hope to do the same!

Yes, please post pictures if you have a chance. :flower3:

I will try going on Monday Veteran's Day. It's a weekday but it's also a holiday so well see how it goes.

I've been a few years during this time period (and will be there this year) and last year was the craziest, but doable with some planning. I think the weekend will very busy at Epcot but Monday should be a little quieter.

See ya around the World!! :cool1:

We go this time of year every year. The F&W does get packed on the weekend. You start seeing the crowds starting to build around 4 on weekend nights and then the lines get really long. Daytime during the weekend is fine, but, again it really gets jammed later. Do the F&W early afternoon to avoid long lines at the food kiosks.

Other than that, crowds at all the other parks are fine. Not nearly as bad as the summers and definitely not as bad as holidays. Last year it might of been a bit worse with the crowds. We spoke with guests who were affected by Hurricane Sandy and could not get home due to airport closings or had no electricity and decided to extend their vacations.

WDW is never "empty" so just be prepared for whatever comes your way and have a great time.

I have planned my Major F&W days for the Middle of the Week. Hopefully that will make it less chaotic. I have given it 2 days but We also have an unplanned day that we could go back on Friday if we wanted. I really don't want to rush it and end up "over-indulging" all in one day. ;)
