DW, and 2DDs and I are thinking about going to WDW in October during the F&W festival.

If you have a recommendation about food that you tried there, I would love :lovestruc to hear about it.

Hello and welcome to the DIS boards! :wave2:

My family and I went to the F&W festival last November and we loved it!! Just so you'll know, the food is not exactly the same from year to year. I saw the 2006 food list and there were several items that were different. These were our favorites from the festival (fortunately, I saved the 2007 food list):

-Arroz con Pato (rice with shredded duck) (Peru)
-Monfongo (mashed yuca with pork cracklings and shrimp) (Dominican Republic)
-Canadian cheddar cheese soup (Canada, of course!)
-Spanakopita (spinach pastry) (Greece)
-Pecan pie (Oklahoma/Route 66)
-Kefta (grilled beef and hummus in a pita pocket) (Morocco)
-California sushi roll / crispy sukiyaki beef roll (Japan)
-Cabbage rolls with spiced beef (Poland)
-Lasagna al forno (HUGE portion!!) (Italy)
-Samosa (spicy pea and potato pastry) with tamarind sauce (India)
-Chilaquiles (baked tortillas with chicken and cheese) (Mexico)
-Tomatican con manchego (tomato, corn and garbanzo bean stew with manchego cheese) (Chile)

All that food took care of lunch AND dinner!! There were a few other dishes that we wanted to try, but we didn't get a chance to (we were too full!!). I hope this helps! :)

those were my favorite two choices!!
sampling all the different choices is a lot fun, but filling. also, it can get pricey, but last (& prob this year) we used DDP snack credits:thumbsup2

It is a great time to go. Hubby and I recommend going with an open mind and trying everything you can if you are a food lover.

We get one plate, share, and move on to next booth. We try to spend multiple days so we can have extra of what we find to be our favorites.
Some things will be the same as past years, some things will be new each year.

We go every year and stay a week. Epcot during the week is pretty calm but the weekends get very hectic. We make it a point to try all the food stands over the course of the week and I would say that we like 90% of the food! Cannot wait to go again this year!

We have attended the F&W festival 3 years in a row, and absolutely love it. We walk around the World Showcase and sample most everything - if you are into the food and wine...go to Italy for the Rosa Regale, with a piece of dark chocolate. Perfect dessert. If you partake in any of the activities, I would suggest the Party for the Senses. That is every Saturday during the festival...it is an amazing experience. As the summer nears, more details will come, on booths in the showcase, as well as other activities to partake in.

F&W is our favorite event, always have a nice time, hope to keep going back every year. As someone else posted, stick to the weekdays for lighter crowds and share foods (& drinks) or you'll never make it around the world. If you are into food and/or wine, there are also wine tasting and cooking classes throughout the day, so much you will never try it all. Plus the P4TS, F&W pairing meals at various TS places, other signature meals. Have fun and enjoy!
