Going to F&W in October for the first time!! :cool1:

How hard is it to book the special events? My friend and I are hoping to attend the 3D Dessert party and we were both wondering how hard it is to get tickets to events.

Any suggestions for us? Thanks!!

I attended the 3D party last October. I planned a last minute trip a month out, and was able to get a ticket easy for my 4 day stay.

It is a GREAT party. :thumbsup2

I plan on doing it again in October as well! :cool1:

Did you do the "sweet seats?" or not? Wondering what your experience was either way...BFF thinks we must have the sweet seats.....

I didn't do the Sweet Seats. Those are in a roped off area in front of the stage. I went solo, so saw no need. The regular tables were empty and people were rotating as they went to get the food. I shared some cocktail tables with others and met some great people! :thumbsup2

As for the food, they do have savory items, and not all desserts. So that kind of helps to balance things. The alcoholic beverages are excellent and paired well with the different foods. ;)

We went last October and had a great time. We didn't have sweet seats, but found that there were plenty of tables throughout the room, so unless you're among the last to arrive, it probably won't be hard to find a table.

The sweet seats are in an area in front of the stage which could be pretty loud because of the musicians. We chose a table farther away and we could still hear the music clearly. If you want sweet seats you'll need to call as soon as reservations open up because they seem to sell out quickly.

Desserts were the main focus, but there was a nice selection of savories such as cheese, crackers and cold cuts.

We would definitely do it again! :)

I thought I had read that some things (foods) were only offered to those with the sweet seats.

I remember reading that the sweet seats included an additional wine and dessert or two, but there were so many desserts I don't think a couple more would make much of a difference. Also, entrance about 15 minutes early so you could find your seats and start getting desserts first and a gift bag with possibly more in it than the ones we got. I also think there were CMs dedicated to the sweet seat area to keep the tables cleared. The rest of us had CMs clearing the tables, but not as often so most of the time it was easier to clear our own dishes and glasses which wasn't a problem.

It is not difficult to get a ticket to the 3D Dessert Party as that is a large event. You would need to be on the phone when reservations open only if you want the Sweet Seats (priority seating). Those sell out quickly.

There has been online booking available for the Dessert Party and Party for the Senses, all other similar events are booked by phone only.

So it sounds like the general seats are pretty easy to get. Does anyone else have experiences they would like to share? What were some of your favorite desserts that you tried?

There were lots of really good desserts at the 3D party. I really liked the tiramisu, eclair, and cream puff. There were also savory items (like cheeses, hams, etc.) that were pretty good.

Here are a few of the desserts:

One of the best parts was that each guest also got a pair of Mickey Vision "glasses", which turns fireworks (or really any bright pin point of light) into Mickey heads!

We're planning to book this also. I was planning to book the Sweet Seats, because I have back & knee problems. I can't stand for long periods of time. It sounds like there are plenty of seats for everyone making the Sweet Seats unnecessary. If we won't have a problem getting a table, I don't see a reason to pay extra. Has anyone ever had a problem getting one of the regular tables or had to stand & wait for a long time with regular admission? Is the priority entrance enough of a time saver to be worth it? I don't mind to wait all day. I just can't stand while waiting.

Last year, they opened the door to the pavilion about an hour before the event started. My family got there at the time. We checked-in and then headed towards the entrance. We sat on the floor and waited for them to open the curtain. The folks that arrived closer to the start time of the event didn't sit down while waiting, but those of us that got there early found plenty of floor space. So if you don't mind waiting about 60-45 minutes, you'll probably be fine to find floor space to sit!

Once the curtains were opened and we were allowed into the event room, there were plenty of tables available. Most folks headed towards the middle of the room (towards the stage), completely bypassing the tables right at the entrance. If you don't mind being further from the stage and not in the middle of the room, you'll probably be fine getting a table (with chairs).
