***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Sorry if this has been posted before? I tried to skim through the prior 114 pages, but didn't see anything?

PFTS - should I pack a dress? Or is it casual? Can we wear shorts/shirts & go right in from the park? Or should we plan on heading back to change before?

Thanks!

I'm going to make everyone jelous. I get to go to 3 POS this year. I am going with my DD on 10/25.:cheer2: Dad and Grandpa are going to keep the 3 little ones busy while we have a good time.:rolleyes1 On 11/1 I get to go with my DH and 13 of my good DIS/DVC/Un-Convention friends :grouphug: and on 11/8 I get to go with my DH and my best friends (Figment2) who couldn't make it on 11/1.:dance3:
I am bringing some very stretchable clothes with me because I think I will be needing them before I go back home. :wave2: Perhaps a couple of laps around the World Showcase will help a bit.

I'm pretty sure the suggested dress is resort casual - similar to the clothing you would expect to see in any of Disney's signature restaurants.

It seemed like most attendees last year at the PFTS we went to were dressed quite nicely - ladies in sundresses and pantsuits and men in khakis or dockers with polo shirts. I enjoy dressing up a little bit ... we try to get back to the room to shower and rest before attending any F&W event, especially those held in the evenings.

I wore a sundress last year - nothing fancy but it was cute and comfortable. The hubby wore a pair of dockers and a polo shirt.

That probably doesn't help much ... Disney leaves it wide open to personal interpretation. :rotfl2:

Just found this ..

It was on WDW News .. I don't know what Favulous about 45 days but they think it is! :lmao:

Jason seems to think that it's all due to cut backs.. SPELL CHECK HAD TO GO! :rotfl2:

OK, I'll be brave and post a picture of what I wore last year to PFTS...

It was very lightweight and worked out perfectly. I had black dress slacks on and, yes, I wore heels. I made it through the whole night, but not sure if I'll wear heels this year... :headache: Part of the fun of booking another PFTS is going shopping for a new outfit! :thumbsup2

Yes, I'm jealous! :goodvibes See you on the 1st! :goodvibes

OK, since Michelle posted hers I'll post mine. This is what my hubby and I wore to last year's PFTS:

Well, it seems like we all are in good moods tonight! :goodvibes I'm trying hard not to let the new Visa balance freak me out after this morning's event bookings.

EDIT - I'm wondering just how many things sold out today... ???

Okay, I'm ashamed to admit this, but I totally blew the date. For some reason I thought TUESDAY was the 25th, and didn't realize it until right now. In a panic, I looked over the schedule for the weekend we're there (10/1 - 10/5), and ended up booking the Wine School program with Karen MacNeil (who authored one of the best wine books of all time, The Wine Bible) on 10/4 from 1 - 4pm.

So here's my question (because I could only make it through 25 pages on this thread before getting burnt out) .... has anyone done the Wine School before, and how was it ? $125 was a little steep, but I've paid that for guided tastings in Napa before, so I thought this might be an interesting afternoon.

Better yet, we've got reservations at the California Grill for 6:30 that day, so it's looking like a full day.

Just have a glass of wine and repeat after me there is no place like home...DVC

I'm glad to have it all settled and I'm excited that I'm going to have a chance to share some of these experiences with a few of my favorite DISers. :goodvibes

And I didn't have to work today so I'm sure that has something to do with my good mood.

Check with me tomorrow and you will find me back to my normal, surly self. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Glad you could still book what you wanted. No, I haven't done a wine school. It sounds very interesting! Have a great time! :goodvibes
