***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

I saw that too, on the Sam Adams website. There are a ton of states where Utopias supposedly can't be sold due to the high alcohol content (Missouri is one of them, too). Imagine our surprise when we were told that it was being sold here in MO. :lmao: So now we've got our names on a waiting list for the next batch ... unless we end up lucky like you!

Gee and I live in FLA., and have seen it for sale...it was last December..

What does Disney have against shipping alcohol! It would increase their sales.

It has to do with state laws and liquor licensing.

Believe me, we know all the tricks living in Utah. Our laws aren't actually as strict as most people think (Texas is far worse) but they don't allow anyone to ship in to the state. However, we were able to purchase bottles and visit the business center for boxes and packing materials, then we just dropped the package off at the front desk and shipped it to ourselves. Worked like a charm!

Yeah the foodie phoning frenzy is over and it appears that quite a few of us were able to book our choices! Way to go! :woohoo:

For those of you attending Todd English's Blue Zoo Signature Dinner, did your booking CM indicate it was 'evening dress'? Mine did.

Yes, she did mention evening dress.

Another one here for the PFTS on 18 October. My first ever.

DS8 was listening in to me booking this morning, he heard me ask for two people. I get off the phone and it's "So Dad isn't going then?" Urm, actually .........

Have we figured out what events sold out today? It would be interesting to find out which ones did.

Someone reported that the Bluezoo signature dinner sold out today. Their post was at 8:54.

Also, someone couldn't get into a food & wine pairing at Italy.

The frustrating part for me was that Utopias can't legally be sold in Florida, according to Sam Adams, so I was just happy to find a bottle and snapped it up. It's now in the back of my closet waiting until my 30th birthday!

I remember reading the statutes a while back on alcohol percentages and sale in Florida, etc, but I can't remember exactly what it was.

Whoever told you Utopias can't legally be sold in FL is completely wrong.
Since FL changed the beer bottle size laws you can definately get it here.
We special order it from our local liquor store each year it is available to make sure hubby gets a bottle.

Wow, less than two hours. We thought this one would be popular!

We did something similar last year when we were in CA for 14 days. On the night before we were to check into the Grand Californian I had the epiphany that we could not carry on the 2 cases of wine I had bought over the previous 8 days. I was not about to pack it in my checked baggage either!

So, we stopped at an UPS Store in Santa Barbara and bought the materials we needed, and stood there and packed up all our dirty clothes and 27 bottles of wine. We were a site! The young ladies working at the store went into the back while we did it so they could honestly say they didn't know we were shipping wine. It all arrived here in Virginia before we did! :rotfl2:

Poor little guy :sad2: Reality bites sometimes.

Utopias will not be out again until fall 2009. It is only available every other year.

We could have... We have done the same thing from WDW resorts too. It is a great service!

But I didn't want to put a CM in the position of knowing what we were shipping and having to tell us: 1. It couldn't be done or 2. I will do it even though it is not allowed.

These were sold out by noon EDT when I called in. Silly me for for not calling earlier:

Master Wine Class, Champagne, on 10/19.
F&W Pairings, Tokyo Dining, sake, sushi, and sashimi, 10/20.

Got these two:

F&W Pairings, Marrakesh, Mediterranean Flavors, 10/21.
The Cook, the book and the bottle, Chef Efisio Farris, 10/24.

We're really looking forward to the Moroccan event. There are many exciting new wines coming out of the region. They're yummy and well-priced! We're looking to gaining some experience.

Then Chef Efisio Farris. Wow! We're completely crazy about Italian Regional foods. Sardinia is a region we need to learn more about. I still can't believe we're going to get to go to this presentation . . . and have lunch!

I canceled our Le Cellier ADR for Tuesday, 10/21, since we were scheduled to do the wine and food pairing until 5pm. It was a two-top, so call now to claim your 8:30pm ADR. ;-)

LOL, I know. They didn't ask, all they wanted to know is how many boxes we wanted/bubble wrap, etc, all included in the price. They left and we packed everything up ourselves. Keep it in mind for future trips..they were really great. Save you driving around for sure.
