***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Anyhoo... here's what we are doing:

10/11: PFTS
10/12: French Regional Lunch
10/14: Champagne Brunch
10/16: Kitchen Conversations w/Robert Irvine

Oh yay! Glad to see you were able to get the Kitchen Conversations!

Oh a side note. I don't feel badly about substituting V&A and California Grill, since I'm spending close to half of what I spent last year. And I'll probably still have some great food.

After 20+ minutes on hold I got through to the nicest CM ... :goodvibes

She told me that I was only her second phone call of the day ... computer was moving really slowly, and after spending another 25 minutes talking with her I'd have to agree. :rotfl2:

BUT ... I was able to book everything we wanted. After much discussion while sitting on airplanes this weekend Jason and I just decided to splurge on this trip (more than usual I mean) and it's his very sweet birthday gift to me. I think he felt a little sorry for me because I hurt my back about 10 days ago and have been hobbling around like a little old lady. :lmao:

The brunch was the event that we went back and forth over, and we finally just decided that as weird as it sounded it was something so different from what we could do here at home that we'd go for it. I hope it lives up to the price tag. :scared1: :rotfl2:

And it's a great solid start to the day we'd designated as our quest to Drink Around the World Showcase. :thumbsup2

So, congrats to everyone and good luck to those of you still waiting to get through or to make those phone calls. :goodvibes :grouphug:

Yea Brenda! Happy for you!:yay:

Thanks! :grouphug:

Lori, I'm really looking forward to 10/16 ... it should be fun. :thumbsup2

And Chelsi! We'll see you at the cheese table on 10/11!! :cool1:

YES! You will! :thumbsup2 We are looking forward to it!

OK STARBUCKS is now open a few blocks away .. I am off to get coffee! :lovestruc

Good Luck ALL!!!!

Was way to easy for us this year (my wife was off the phone by 7:06 - I got right in the queue at 7:00) - City Tastes: Victoria (10/17), Spain (10/24) and PFTS (10/25).

I hope when I come back on here later this morning that I can celebrate even more bookings! Enjoy your morning, everyone.

Ok, got off the phone about 10 minutes ago and really should be heading straight in to work... but of course I'm going to post here instead.

My initial impression is that perhaps WDW was *gasp* right this year when they cut back on the higher ticket events. I got a text message from my friend saying that she was able to get us right into the 11/7 bluezoo signature dinner.

My own personal reservation luck?
Well, I didn't reach a person until about 7:25am. In prior years I've had a list of about 10 or so events to book. This year? Only 5 (plus 1 or 2 PFTS that I'll try to book next week.

I booked 9/26 CBB, easily grabbing 3 seats for me, my mom (her first F&WF!) and a friend.
I then decided to press my luck, and asked if there was still space in the 11/2 V&A signature dinner. I grabbed one of the last 4 seats.* Last year signature dinners (even that one) were one of the first events to sell out (along with the Cellier F&WPs).
I was then able to get the rest of my little list:
11/6 Kitchen Conversations (Todd English)
10/31 Cook Book Bottle (Catalan)
10/31 City Tastes (Italy)

* Ok, part of me is kind of wondering if I messed up the V&A reservations by booking as a single. Is some poor couple going to try to book only to be told that there's only 1 seat left??? Will there be a third wheel somewhere to even up the event????? Or am I going to be the only solo (and single) diner at the event and one obnoxious enough to bring a camera to take pictures of the food to boot???? Inquiring minds want to know!

ImprovGal, you crack me up! :rotfl2:

I'd be disappointed if you didn't take pictures at the V&A signature dinner.

Congrats on getting those events you wanted - it sounds like a great line-up. I hope you'll come back and share the details with the rest of us once it's all said and done. As much as I love attending the events I've booked for Jay and me, I love reading about events that we didn't / couldn't attend.

I waited & called in at 7:46 and there was no wait.

Booked:
11/7 City Tastes Louisana
11/8 PFTS

Congrats!

We would have loved to attend the LA city taste event but since it's not being offered during our visit we were out of luck. Hope you enjoy it - I bet the food will be terrific!

I called at 7:03 and was on hold for about 25 minutes. I was able to book the bluezoo signature dinner with no problems. I have had my fill of disney music for the day tho!!!

Again starting dialing at 5:59 out time & was on hold for 25 minutes!:confused3 I had 2 phones going & the skype on the computer. While DH was still laying in bed, I plopped the computer in front of him & stuck the skype headset in his ear! Of course when I mouthed I've got the French Regional Lunch, you do City Tastes, he understood book French Regional. So he had to start over with the CM.

Anyway it's fine, I only booked the French Lunch on 10/26 & City Taste-Italy for 10/31.

Great choices Sheryl! Be sure to come back and tell us all about them! :thumbsup2

I just realized that my responses are more cheerful than usual ... that disney music is insidious! :rotfl2: :lmao:

I called at 7:00 and only had to wait 10 minutes. This will be our first time going to these event. We have been before but only walked around. This year we wanted to go to something. So this is what I booked.
PFTS on 11/8
Food and Wine Pairing at Tutto Italy on 11/8
I wish they were not on the same day but they are both only offered on Saturdays and we check in the Saturday before but I was worried about our flight bein delayed and possibly missing the Italy event. I am so excited. Still thinking that I should have booked the dinner with Todd English at Bluezoo. I might call back. Good luck to everyone.

And here I thought it was my coffee... :confused3

Looks like, for the most part, you all are still being successful! :)

You are chipper this morning! With the ressies you nabbed, you should be happy! :thumbsup2

I had one phone on one ear with nice Disney music, the other with Radio Disney, now as me feeling all discombobulated!;)

I was just on again & booked Blue Zoo! I'm still considering booking the PFTS for our 1st day. Just worried that if our plane or ME run late, I'll be a frazzled frustrated mess & not really enjoy it. I have AP booked for that night, just in case.
