***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Our favorite F&W pairing that we've tried so far was the Scotch pairing at Rose and Crown last year - that was wonderful! Coral Reef was also very good when we tried it in 2006.

Hey Sheryl! :goodvibes

Last night I told Jay how much Patricia mentioned PFTS might be going for and he said,"We could buy two bottles of Utopias for that!"

And then he said, "We could have dinner at V&A, use the DDE card discount, and spend less."

And then he said, "Who am I kidding? We'll still probably go to PFTS."

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Brenda,

Speaking of Utopias, do you think they will have it for sale this year? I know Sam Adams only brews it every two years.

Marcel would love a bottle. We actually had our hands on one last year but we hadn't tasted it yet so we didn't purchase it. Dumb move. :headache:

Wow, guys.

Thanks for all the pictures, and memories.

Can't wait for October!!!

Hi there! I mentioned the price of last year's PFTS to DH last night and he just looked at me and said "book it!" We had such a blast at it last time it is worth it for the evening. We are flying in on a Saturday, checking in to BWV - dressing up and heading over to the party - can't wait!!

Just wish they would open up the booking window so I can get the tickets purchased!

I didn't think about that, so I'm not sure what the right answer is. We do have our name on a waiting list with our local booze & cheeser of choice so if they get some Utopias this year they know to call us.

We did the same thing - had our hands on the bottle but didn't buy it because we hadn't tried it yet. Live and Learn and Spend! :lmao:

That was our favorite too. I also loved the Sushi, Sake, Sashami one we did in 2005. I do not like the new lounge though so will probably pass on that one again. Coral Reef was nice but I would rather sit in the front near the tanks (they sat us all the way in the back.) I really wanted to do the Seas Salon last year but that got switched to Coral Reef. We have done Bistro-just OK. This year we may try Le Cellier if we can get it and or Tutto Italia. Def. the whiskey pairing if they have it again! A German one would be fun-maybe with beer! How about Mexico with tequila?!

Tequila would be great! Have they opened the new bar yet?

I know they go fast, but I don't think they all could have sold out that quickly. I know that I booked our Le Cellier pairing after booking the Scotch pairing at Rose and Crown. Having said that it was still something like 6:15AM Central time on the very first day they began taking reservations.

It's cut-throat!! :rotfl2:

I used to live in St charles MO. Howdy neighbor LOL My parents are still there. ;)

Hi everyone!!! :goodvibes Now that my Christmas vacation ADRs are all done, I can focus on planning our Halloween/F&W Festival trip! :hyper: I can't wait to go back. We had such a good time last year. ::yes:: Party for the Senses was amazing and we will definitely be going again this year - although, the $150 price tag, if that's really what it is, will certainly add up for us - x5! :scared1: It's still worth it to me... I just hope DH doesn't have a cow. LOL! :lmao:

Thanks for starting this thread, TDC! I can't wait until more info is released. I remember how agonizing it was last year to finally get the full schedule. Ugh. As soon as we do get more info, I'm going to update my handy-dandy rating cards for the World Showcase food booths that I made last year...

I'll post a link to them here so anyone who wants them can download them. :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Those are GREAT!! Wish I had seen them last year - we have a guide that is all marked up and half the time we can't read it. I really look forward to your rating cards for this year's trip!!! :hyper:

I may have been holding the same Utopias bottle - and I have tried it before at numerous PFTS - I put it back because I wanted to ask my cast member friend if he would get a discount if he bought it. The bottle disappeared before I could talk to him.

Michelle-those cards were the best! I'm glad you'll be updating them for this year. I remember running them off on my computer just hours before we hopped on the plane last year. We've been having F&W Fantasies over here! :rotfl:

Now as for the rumoured $150 per person for PFTS...ugh...that bites the big one. I almost wish my kids hated good food...I'd better start looking under the couch cushions for that loose change now. :rotfl2:

Michelle! OMG, you are the one that I needed to thank! We had so much fun with those cards last year. It was so nice to have them and made our trip around the WS sort of like a culinary scavenger hunt. Thanks so much for making and posting them last year. I can't wait to download the 2008 cards.

Yippee!!! :cool1: Thanks, Michelle! I've secretly been hoping that you'd do the cards again. I so enjoyed your trip report last year and remember thinking "maybe someday I'll get to go for F&W." And now someday is here already! ;)

Hiya! :goodvibes

I hope your family isn't being impacted by all this flooding around here. I drove home using I-370 tonight and the amount of water that's filled up the flood plain out there between Elm and Cave Spring / Truman is mind boggling. There has to be at least 10 feet of river lapping up against the shoulder of the highway.

PFTS was $135 last year right? Was that with tax or was tax even more? My friend told me about the rumored $150-she worked F&W last year. I guess it keeps going up every year and $150 is not too far from $135. Remember when it was $70 and was 6pm-9pm?

$70???? A far far dream.....

and we will pay the $150...
We are Disney SUCKERS :mickeybar

Ain't that the truth!

I'm looking at 3 PFTS this year, including one in which I'll be bringing my mom.

I can't wait to see this year's event list, although i hope that when it finally is released it is comprehensive in listing themes and chefs. I've really enjoyed Cook, Book, Bottle and Sweet Sundays in the past, but if the prices increase I'll be really hesitant to book any that are being done by that world-renown chef, "TBD".

I would like to see the Exquisite Evenings return. I've been going since they were the "Reserve" dinners and haven't yet been disappointed.

Other events I'll be looking for this year: Kitchen Conversations, Signature Dinners, Coral Reef & perhaps Japan Food & Wine pairings, and the Regional Feasts.

I also really hope that I have better luck with the reservations CM I reach than I did last year. She wasn't sufficiently trained and I got shut out of several events as I lost valuable time while she kept putting me on hold to ask a supervisor for help in finding listings for the events.

I agree with you on this. We really wanted the Scotch pairing and feared it would fill up quickly (which it did) - the CM that I was working with had the hardest time finding it. I really would have been upset if we had been shut out becuase of this...

To be honest I'd be surprised if it ever goes through. We used to walk in to Mexico to check weekly to see if they started production, but we stopped a while ago when nothing ever happened. :(
