Hello out there in DVC land...

Has anyone heard if DVC members will be getting a chance at early reservations for EPCOT Food and Wine Festival special events? They've done it in past years but I've seen/heard nothing this year.

They open at 7AM on August 13th for the general public.

Thanks!

This is from the Disney Food Blog and refers to the -

Check out www.wdwinfo.com (events) and the www.DisneyFoodBlog.com for more -

Good to know that the discounts are only available for Mondays thru Thursdays. I just wish the schedule for culinary demos would hurry up and come out! Last year I went to the demo by the chef from Boma (who did Duck, but Duck isn't on Boma's menu, to the best of my knowledge). I'm anxious to see this year's offerings.

I'm anxious for details too! We've only ever done the booths in the past and are excited to sign up for some demos this year.

looking for the culinary demonstration schedule, I want to be ready to go on the 9th!

I should know this, but what time can we start calling on August 9th?

Disney Dining will start taking advance bookings at 8 AM Eastern, MS will open for F&W Advance bookings at 8 AM Eastern.

As a DVC member, does it matter if we call Disney dining or Member services? Both open at 8am Friday, Aug 9?

Both will be busy and clueless. (Disney never seems to warn and /or train).
But my experience is that Member Services will take longer to figure this all out so I call dining

Is it necessary to show your ID card when you arrive for the Demo? My parents are staying at OKW with us and would probably enjoy some of these, but there be may some they'd like to do together.

Also, do you pay at the time of booking?

I believe I did have to show photo ID when I picked up the tickets (that day, if I remember). However, not when I got in line for the demo. And I waited for several weeks after they opened the reservations for DVC, etc. because I couldn't decide yet I still got the discount. But I admit that the demo I chose wasn't a well-known one.

Which demo did you do? Did you enjoy it? Where did you have to pick up the tickets?

Shouldn't it post before bookings open? I'd love to see more details too!!

I just spoke with my mom and husband and we are all very excited to book a few!!!

So we can book even the culinary experiences in the 9th? For some reason I'm having a really hard time following the wording of the blogs and info pages so if someone is sure and can be definitive I would appreciate them forever!

The only events that can be booked beginning on 8/9 are the low cost ($12-$15)Wine & Beverage Seminars, Mixology Seminars & Culinary Demonstrations that are held daily in the Festival Welcome Center. These were the formerly free events that they started charging for a few years ago. None of the more expensive special Parties, Culinary Dining Events, Signature Dining events, Food & Wine (or Beer) Pairings, Regional Lunches, Breakfasts, etc., will be available to book until 8/13.

That really blows my plan. I was hoping to reserve the "bigger" events first and then fill in the empty spots with these inexpensive demos. I haven't been to F/W Festival for several years. Is this how they have always done this? I am finding it nearly impossible to plan this trip! I tried to wait to select dates/purchase airfare until I knew which celebrity chefs would be there what days, but I finally had to just pick dates at random.

I am really struggling to understand WHY Disney is so slow on putting out this information!
