Greetings Everyone: I posted this on the dining and theme park boards, but I thought I would try with my Podcast friends too. I may be in Orlando for a conference Sept 24-26 at the Contemporary. I was thinking of bringing my wife down, and having an adult weekend at Disney. I was wondering about going to the Food and Wine Festival. Will it be too crowded to move, get food, and enjoy the experience? Anyone have any thoughts or experience?

GO!

I was there last opening weekend for Food & Wine. Yes, extremely crowded, and as TGM wld say, an absolute no, no if you are a Park-comando type who rates his experience by how many rides and attractions you can accomplish in the least amount of time.

However, if you are going to enjoy some food, drink some wine, hear live music and soak up the atmosphere, it is a P-E-R-F-E-C-T weekend!

And of course you are a WISH member - don't forget Expedition Everest that weekend.

Plus, you can shut down the Adventurer's Club and Pleasure Island - last weekend for that as well!:thumbsup2

We've done opening weekend in the past for F&W and its not crowded at all for going around the showcase and sampling and the goodies. The rides...that may be another story, but since we were so focused on the festival, we didn't much notice and the showcase was not wall to wall people by any stretch of the imagination. I think you'd be fine.
