Has anyone been? We are at WDW when Davy Jones  is there. Is there actually a long line or can you walk in like 15min prior to performance? Any info would be great!

Oh, there are lines.

BIG LINES.

Certain guests can command waiting lines of 2-3 hours before the show (some die-hard fans, even earlier.)

The shows are (by Disney request) only 30 minutes in length, so take that into consideration.

BTW, any of the shows we've seen have been a LOT of fun!

(Mr. Monkee Jones is one of the most POPULAR, so make your plans accordingly.)

Yes there are lines for the shows - seems like we waited about an hour to see Davy in 2006. But it was a VERY GOOD show.....well worth the wait. Of course int the late 60's when the Monkees were very popular I just KNEW that one day I would be MRS JONES.......and I am just not MRS DAVY JONES:rotfl2:

You're pulling her leg, right?

My wife and I love these concerts - both F&G and F&W. And it would never even cross our minds to get in line.

It's necessary to line up if you're a groupie and want to be first into the theater.

Otherwise, 10 or 15 minutes before any show is usually adequate for a good seat.

The only caveat is that the first concert is always the busiest.

We live very close, will see most performers on multiple days and absolutely won't line up.

Maybe we're in an alternate universe.

It all depends on who's playing,I remember this past Eat to the Beat the Beach Boys had a huge line like 3 hours before the first showtime where if you didn't line up like at least 2 hours before you probably wouldn't get a seat and then the next day for the Family Stone you could show up just as they were starting to play and get a good seat.I've been to many concerts at both Festivals and unless it's a big name you can show up 15-20 minutes before and probably get a seat, probably won't be good but you'll sit.

I'm so jealous. We are going early april, and had I know Davy Jones was going to be there, I might have changed our dates. Maybe next year.:cloud9:

For many performers you can get in line a few minutes before show time and get a seat with no problem - especially at the second and third shows. If you really want a seat close to the stage, however, getting there earlier is a bigger deal.

For the most popular performers, and Davy Jones is one, you do need to line up earlier, depending on whether you care about being closer to the stage. The America Gardens Theater holds a ton of people, and soaks up lines which appear very long. We once joined a long 5:45pm Beach Boy's line in the middle of Germany. A cast member even came by and told us we would not get into the 5:45 show, but would be going to the 7:00 show. We made the 5:45 show with room to spare.

Have fun!!

I got in line for Sly and the Family Stone, Surivivor and BJ Thomas minutes before their shows. :confused3

OP - even if you dont get into the seating area to see him, youll be able to hear him in the entire America's area. :goodvibes

ETA - i went to the late shows

I had just the opposite experience for the Beach Boys in Oct 05, and that was the day hurricane Wilma went through. Very few locals came out that night. I did see them the next night as well.

I got in line at 1:00 both days the Beach Boys were here and I wasn't the first person in line. The line for Davy Jones will start by around 2:00 or 2:30, but he plays to the entire audience - he comes down off the stage and walks around - so there really isn't a bad seat in the house for his shows. The other person who has a huge line is Peter Noone. Other than those, getting in line 30 minutes before you'll get a good seat.

I can't remember which side the dinosaur will appear where the photo is taken. Is it the side of the ride vehicle you get in on or the furthest?

You might include Paul Revere and the Raiders.
