Epcot fireworks (special seating)

We had special viewing in Britain as part of Year of a Million Dreams. No food, but we did get glasses that made each point of light in the fireworks like like a Mickey head.

One of the most magical times we've had at Disney.

How cool Arelena'sDad! Hope we get those. No, I know for a fact the VIP viewing spots don't include food and drink if they come as part of a promotion. I also love the fact that we can stroll up 10 minutes before Illuminations without waiting around beforehand. We also have one for the MK fireworks, but the place where they have roped off for this doesn't really give a clear view (too many trees) so we are unlikely to use this one.

Wow that's pretty cool about the glasses...I assume the year of a million dreams means you were aproached by a CM and given the passes? They do all kinds of different items for it. A few years back, I believe it was the first year they had the YOAMD's We were approached in the exit of the haunted mansion right after the people in front of us walked by the CM as they tried to talk to them and were given the lanyards with the fast passes for most of the major attractions. I always told my kids if approached by a cast member while with us at the parks take the time to speak with them. They don't initiate conversations with guests unless they are giving away something.

We've twice had access to the special viewing area at Morocco and I can tell you from our experience that you do need to get there early enough to be the first few in. There isn't room for everyone to stand single file in that area and you may be standing behind other people. That happened to us our first time; we learned for the second time to be there when a CM gets there to start taking the tickets to let people in.

Oh great :rolleyes1!! Considering that, is the view from there worth it? I don't want to sound like a spoilt brat, but if I can get a better view around the World Showcase, then I may consider just waiting ahead of time. I guess we are going to be there for a few weeks, so there's nothing to lost by giving it a try.

I do appreciate your comment though - I would have sauntered across in blissful ignorance...

I would also be curious to see what you think...I would consider waiting ahead if the view would be better elsewhere.

But, when we went in October, we were family of the day at Epcot, and as part of that, we had "VIP seating" right on the Lagoon in front of Italy. It was a roped off area. The night we were there, there were about 40 people in there for various reasons. There was not actual "seating", and no food. DH and I laughed that we got "VIP standing", not seating. :rotfl: The view was great, though!

It's fun when they select you for anything at Disney...but that sounds great mnrose. I guess the up side is you had great viewing at a event you typically stand for anyway.
