Epcot fireworks fast pass location?

Assuming it hasn't changed since last fall, at the front of the lake, close to main entrance/exit. I forget the name of the gift shop (Port of Entry?), but the entrance was right next to it.

Be warned, folks line up about an hour early [raises own hand].

Tip: there are only a couple of benches there that can be very helpful.

Somewhere near the areas near #13 and #14 on the map below.

Being there on many, many nights, I've observed that arriving an hour early if you have a FP is not necessary. There's really no point, you have a FP and are assured of entry. I would arrive no more than 15 minutes before Illuminations and stand at the back.

Is the viewing from the back of the FP area better than just grabbing a spot anywhere else around the lake? I have never FP'd Illuminations. We just walk around the lake until we find a thin spot and stand there.

Better?
Depends on where you choose to view.

I'd say there are comparable places to view without a fastpass, but you'd probably have to stake those out earlier. It is a fantastic spot for beating the crowds to the buses, though.

Thank you! I’m here now! A day early because of a blizzard.

We usually watch from America and the view has been great. I always assumed the view would be pretty much great from anywhere. This past trip, I was able to snag FP+ late in the day, and the view was INCREDIBLE. The fireworks were so close and seemed so impressive. Mind you, this was also over Xmas so there was the extra holiday ending, but from now on, I will always try to get FP for it if available. I would not choose it over Soarin' or TT, but if you can get it later in the day, it is definitely worth it. I had to keep refreshing the MDE, but it eventually appeared. Everyone in our family thought it was an amazing view.

Robo pretty much nailed the question with the detailed map. With that said, IMHO, FP is not really necessary for Illuminations, the lagoon is so large that finding at least a decent viewing spot is relatively easy.. As stated by pp, that last FP could be better utilized for an attraction like Soarin or TT, but of course, it is all personal preference.. Hope this helps!
