I was at Epcot last week, Wed., Feb. 27. There was no globe during the fireworks. I asked a Cast Member, and he said the globe was undergoing repairs, and that was the first night of the new fireworks production, which was supposed to be a big surprise. Indeed, a friends of mine were there the week before for a Siemens conference, and did see the globe.

There's been rumors of a new show, but believe me it won't happen by surprise. There will be tons of info and threads about it if they were changing the show,I mean I couldn't begin to imagine Disney fans and passholders not getting word of a new show and on a random night they just decide to start showing the new show and people won't even get a chance to see the current version one last time before it signs off.It will happen,I even heard a name to be rumored for the new show "Illuminations: Skydance",but it won't happen overnight. As far as the globe not being there,as the CM said it must have been getting repaired.

The Globe was in the show on March 1, though it did have a few commuication glitches appearntly but did get fixed and was used in most of the show that night.

strangely... it appeared a bunch of LEDs were repalced before that night as asia didnt have as many blank spots as I remembered from the last time i saw the show a few months back.

The last time I saw Illuminations before this time was March 2006. I'll have to compare the videotapes; it seemed to me the show I saw this time was different. However, I would assume Disney has a back-up show for times when the globe is not available.

About 1-2 years ago they ran the show without the fire barge(where the big fireballs come out) for an extended time.It was probably gone for a couple of months if I recall.Maybe you saw the show without the fire explosions and it looked different this time.

I reallyhave to check my videotape! There were fireballs, I believe . . . nice and warm where I was standing, near Canada.
