Please tell me that Epcot still has the free soda fountains with soda from around the world. I believe it was called "Chill zone" or "Cold zone". Best attraction ever. :worship:

They do still have Club Cool.

You get small sample coke cups, and try different sodas from all over.

I like to take unassuming people in, and make them drink Beverly. Make sure you have your camera ready.

;)

I realize I'm in the extreme minority, but I really didn't find the Beverly to be unpleasant. It was certainly bitter, with a vague quinine taste, but I've tasted far worse (Ever had Moxie? That one stopped me in my tracks!).

I love the watermelon soda from China and the ginger ale (from Morocco, I think?). It's a great break from a hot day, and you get to see the two most powerful and recognized name brands in the world (Mickey Mouse and Coke) collide in one confined place.

I think the reason Beverly get's the reactions that it does when at the Soda fountain trying them all, you go from sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, to BITTER!

Kinda startles the system.

First time I ever tried it I thought the machine was broken! No kidding :woohoo:

As an aperitif, Beverly is quite bitter, similar to tonic water or quinine. It is not really meant to be consumed as a regular soft drink in large quantities, but rather sipped in small amounts.

Yes, I was quite disappointed the first time I tried it. :rotfl:

After reading about it here I was expecting something absoluely revolting, but it really wasn't that bad. I even took a few more sips and have tried it on other trips just to be sure.

They used to have it where you walked through a tunnel type of thing that resembled an iceberg / igloo but now it's not like that. do you remember that, or am I halucinating that memory?

I actually LIKE the Beverly drink. Dad was Moxie fan and it was always in the house so the bitter flavor doesn't bother me, though the watermelon is my favorite. Have to get a cup of both each hot day we pass Club Cool on our way into Epcot.

Last time there I saw a young couple, both went for the Beverly when they saw me grab mine and go back for a second one. I didn't tell them fast enough to just sip it to see if they liked it, and they both spit it out. We all had a good laugh, but I guess I have to be careful enjoying Beverly when others are watching!

You are not halucinating. It used to be that way.

We went there last year and because the Beverly drink was talked about so much on the DIS boards we decided to give it a try. YUCK!!! All I got from Club Cool was sticky flip flops (do not go in there with good shoes)

The Israel soda is tasty! Lemony goodness. Its quite morish too, had about 5 cups last time.

Also, It is great to get out of the sun for a bit.

Definitely. If I hadn't been prepared for it from the myriad posts on this board, I probably would have been startled, as well! As it was, I took the tiniest sip, then a slightly larger one, then a normal one and thought "hmmm, may have overprepared myself for this one."

Also, please note I'm not trying to find an importer for it to keep on hand at my house or anything! I just thought it was mildly refreshing.

My niece thought it would be hilarious to give my 3 year old a cup of the Beverly on our last trip. I didn't know it was happening until I heard her let out a horrible scream, and cry hysterically for about 10 minutes. Now, I don't think the Beverly is quite that bad..... but close!!!
