While I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.....

I'm just wondering if this is the gift we all wanted.

Which of these options would have been your first choice?

 :smooth:    :D

Well, I am not sure which one of your choices to choose.

I think it was a step in the right direction that they have admitted a mistake and are trying to make it up to us. I have a feeling that it is unreasonable to expect them to design us a new pin, although since we paid for the breakfast with the expectation of a low LE pin, it would have been nice. I don't think they would destroy 1200 Walt with Figment pins...more likely is that you would see them on lanyards in six months or in next September's "special gift" box.

So, for the time being, I am happy to have gotten what I got. It's not perfect, but perhaps a good start towards treating us with some respect. That's what I have wanted from them all along.

I like the fact that Disney gave us the extra pins from the Walt with gift... Not that I need 2 more spaceship earths but I do like the fact that Disney gave them to us. As for a free gift... I am happy with the fact that Disney steped up and is doing something. So any gift is okay with me. :)

I too feel that Disney has "done good" and took a positive step towards keeping pin trading alive and well. I give them credit for realizing an error had been made and doing something to rectify it. I hope they take the next step and return the event to the World Showcase building. While I did like the use of other venues for parts of the event, the trading area and the logo store need more room.

I thought I'd get some input from my DISpals before I make up my mind.

My initial feeling was that I was pretty bummed about having an LE 2400 pin that I thought was going to be LE 1000 (or 1200).

From a trading value perspective, I do not believe that having two LE 2400 pins is even close to one LE 1000.

So, I'm pretty sure I won't pick option #1.

I will continue to monitor the voting a little longer before I cast my lot. ;)

Robyn,
I agree with you, I think the value of the Walt with Figment pin is not comparable with any of the other Walt with...pins that are event "gifts". I like the Walt with from the MGM event LE 1000, howerver I can't trade my Walt with Figment for it. and ;the Figment head that they are sending is cute, but is it really cute enough to use for trade for another LE 1200 pin? I don't think anyone who didn't attend the event will want it unless they have the other pins from the maps that weekend.
So the pins they gave were a nice gesture, but as for tradeability they don't mean much.
Although I still haven't received my pins so I really can't talk about them yet.
The one thing Disney has to realize is they can't continue to expect the income that the pins are producing if they continue to treat us like 2nd class citizens. Let's face it, if they had the event at the Pop Century parking lot we would have all still attended and spent our money like we did in September. but we have to let them know that pushing us aside and booking the World Pavillion to someone else was wrong and we won't stand for it again. I know I have cut back alot and will continue to cut back on pins.
Not sure if it is the treatment Disney has given me or the fiasco's and childish behavior of some traders, but pins have taken a back seat on my trips to WDW. I go now to enjoy the parks and the resorts and if they have some pins I like I will get them. Peggie

I kinda feel like we did get two gifts. I mean we know that they don't have over 1000 of the Walt and Figment pin lying around now (because lets face it Disney never destroys a pin) and we got a small edition size LE1200 Figment pin in edition. Granted it isn't the same as the other Event pins because it doesn't have Walt on it but it is one that no one could just go buy and was only given to those that attended the event... I was bummed when the completer pins didn't have Figment on any of them so this is kinda cool and will really complete the event pins that I plan to frame.

We just have to get 1200 event attendees to destroy the duplicate pin they just received!

That's easy enought, right?

Surely, they'll all agree to it.......:smooth: :jester:  ;) :teeth:

Yes, it was a nice gesture, and certainly totally unexpected, and unneccessary, because let's face it the event is over, and they didn't have to do anything for us, so it really is a step..........

That being said, the gifts, unfortunately, really can't make up for the fiasco. I made my choice (destroy the extra 1200 pins) under the presumtion asked--what would you choose if Disney is letting you make the decision; I don't think they should have to design us a whole new pin; I guess a different Walt pin would be nice, but again, not sure their offense warrants them giving us a different pin, wouldn't choose to get another of the one we got, so would be happy just knowing that what we had was LE 1200. I can trade the extra one we got now, but as Peggie pointed out, it's not really worth a whole lot in trading value.......but I do have 2 more traders than I had yesterday!

:smooth:

I waited a while to vote on this one as well. I voted for a new/different LE 1200, but if the option to have more than one choice had been offered, I would have also selected confirmation that the extra Walt With Figment pins had been destroyed.

We received our FedEx packages yesterday and the Figment pin was left out of Lauri's box. I'm going to call WDW about it later, but I admit I feel uneasy about it. I hate to feel like I'm being ungrateful, but if she's supposed to get the pin then she should get it.
