We will be making our first family trip to WDW the week of Labor Day with our 5 year old and 3 year old. We are thinking of going to Epcot in the evening and just want to visit the World Showcase. We are staying on property at the VWL. Is it possible for us to enter through the International Gateway so we do not have to walk to the length of the park to get where we want to go? Any suggestions are appreciated.

There is an entrance at the World Showcase, but I think you get there by walking the path from the Beach Club. The main entrance though is cool for the kids because of the big "ball", so you may want to consider it. If you're planning on renting a stroller earlier in the day, you can pick one up at the entrance with your receipt and not pay twice. I think a stroller for the 3 year old would be a good idea regardless of which entrance you choose, it's a lot of walking.

You can go through the international Gateway, but once you consider parking - or just getting from the bus/boat/car to the International Gateway - it's probably a wash as to which entrance you take. that is, the distance from the front entrance to World Showcase will be about as far as the Boardwalk parking lot to the International Gateway.

HOWEVER, if you are going in the evening (presumably staying for Illuminations), it is much easier/faster to leave the park via the International Gateway.

Thanks for the information. We are bringing our stroller from home. Yes, we will be going in the evening and probably staying for Illuminations. I did not know if there would be parking available for us (we will have a car). If not, how we would access the Gateway. Thanks.

If you have dinner reservations at any of the restaurants in BC, YC, or BW you can park at the hotel. Otherwise, there is public parking at the Boardwalk but I understand it is a bit of a walk.
