Epcot Entrance from the Boardwalk

So, that would mean that you can wander around France, UK, Canada, Mexico, and Norway before opening? That would be such a great time to get pictures! (Do they let you stop in UK and Canada, too, or do you have to keep moving toward FW?) We may have to plan on walking over from Yacht Club for breakfast at the bakery and some crowd-less WS time.!

Last month, I was able to go to France early -- the CMs standing on the bridge will tell you that WS is closed except for the French bakery. Another CM will prevent you from walking towards Morocco. You won't be able to explore Canada -- a rope prevents you from walking up the steps. I can't remember if there were any CMs at UK directing you towards FS.

This was my experience too. There are areas that are roped off which clearly you cannot enter but many of the buildings are very pretty and good photo ops with no one around and it's not like CMs were telling us to keep going. You can stand outside UK or Canada and snap some pics if you like. And with the French bakery open in the mornings now too you will likely get some very nice pictures outside the buildings in France.

No its 100% on all days. The walking distance from the main entrance to Soarin is shorter than the walking distance from boardwalk entrance to Soarin. That cannot be disputed.

I will leave my Beach Club room at 8:30 and be at Soarin' at 8:40-8:45. What time will you be at Soarin' if you leave YOUR room at 8:30? Not a disadvantage. Actually, it is a HUGE advantage.

We stayed at BWV this past August, & I can tell you from personal instances that 3 days that we went to Epcot from our side or (I.G.) that we werre directed to continue through to the left. or ( Towards Future world. ) So I was under the assumption that this was the case for everyone....Mesaboy informed me that this wasn't always the case & that you can indeed continue over towards France..

If someone was able to actually make it around to one of the next few countries I'm sure they would've asked them to kindly head back towards canada...just my thought....But what do I know.:confused3

I may be mistaken but I think it changed earlier this year after the bakery reopened after the renovations.

You'd have to be incredibly fast and incredibly lucky to leave your Beach Club room at 8:30 and get to Soarin' by 8:40. That assumes that you can get through security with ZERO line to hold you up (and therefore, that very few or no other guests) are entering Epcot the same time you are. It's a pretty decent walk from BW to Soarin'...I'm guessing 20-30 minutes depending on your speed. I've done the walk from YC and it took me about 20 minutes, and I walk like a speed demon.

I agree that you probably don't need to leave your room as early to get to the turnstile as you do from another resort, but it takes a LOT more manpower to walk all the way over there, only to be caught in an already-long line because the people entering from the front got there before you did.

So yeah...I think the advantages and disadvantages all wash out.

Not sure where you get 30 minutes from. Maybe 20 from the Boardwalk. It is def 15 from the Beach Club. We stay there every year. And I have NEVER encountered a line of more than 2 minutes at the IG. Advantage-Epcot Resorts.

I agree completely. We are BCV owners and frequent visitors. This is the case!!!

The ability to walk to France is new over the last few months when the bakery reopened after renovations.
Enjoy

I think what that pp was generally saying was the advantage was always going to be in tbe favor of anyone entering through the front gate.

You are stating that you made it there from bc yc within 10-15 minutes which i find hard to believe, but lets just say you did. The question b4 was comparable from when both people are entering at the same time through the turnstiles and then heading over to Soarin. Provided this were the case you can't honestly tell me that you ( coming from bc/yc) would make it there b4 them ( coming from front gates). Now if you left your resort room at 8:30 an encompassed only a 2 minute wait and made it to Soarin at 84O or 845, you would've definitely mad it there first provided the front gate guests weren't in the park yet.:confused3

I think whether you enter from the front gate or international gateway you would get in about the same time. Maybe front gate is faster by a little bit. Just because it seems closer to the rides to me.

The bolded part cannot be disputed. It is fact. Arguing against that is like arguing that the Earth isn't round.

I understand completely what Arsenal was getting at. He stated staying at the Epcot resorts is a HUGE (his word & emphasis, not mine) disadvantage. I disagree, esp.now that WDW has eliminated rope drop.

Arsenal, I am still waiting for you to
answer my question? How long will it take you to walk to Soarin' from your room? How about France? Mexico?

My point is that we choose Beach Club because of how convenient it is to be in a park in less than 5 minutes without the hassle of having to take a bus, car or boat. The few minutes shorter turnstile to ride advantage that front gate guests have is minimal. And they left their room much earlier to take advantage of the few minutes ahead of me in line that they will be.

I'm not sure exactly how long it will take me to walk from my room to Soarin. Maybe 15-20 if I'm hustling...

And we agree that it is a major convenience to stay at the Beach Club and hop over to Epcot... I just wish the entrances were staggered a little more fairly.

ok now that we all got that settled can we all first have a group :grouphug: and maybe have a :drinking1 together.....
