Epcot Elements Sign-ups!! Closed but ACTIVE!!

Soarin's already been split off, but there should be room for the "Living with the Land" boat ride, and maybe a generic "Land Pavilion," things that would work for the main pavilion, Garden Grill, Lion King movie.

Okay, tonight if some of the others aren't taken..will sub in your suggestions.. I was thinking about the boat ride today and Lion King movie...... boy, there are some many options!!! :) Okay, off to the game!! :)

I'm sorry, Nancy, I had to leave fairly early this morning for a work meeting and did not have time to read the instructions. I didn't notice the limitation on signing up for just one group. I, obviously, also didn't know that Hope was wanting to do the Land. Hope, I love your idea.........in fact, I was planning to use the old symbols on my own for some of my scrapping of my older photos of Epcot. I hate to see those lost without being remembered somehow! So, go ahead and use your plans if that's still open after 8 PM.

Nancy, if there are still openings after 8 PM and if it's OK with you and Hope, I would love to do "Living with the Land". If not, I will do it sometime in a future swap.........it's really no big deal.

No problems!! I forsee you and Hope both doing Land.. your choices... I think I'll sub for things that haven been chosen... I'll give you "Living with the Land" and Hope the "Land Pavillion"... if that works..
I'll get your Japan updated tonight too!!!

Just wondering..........While I absolutely LOVE 'Soarin' and "Honey I Shrunk the Audience", how do people use those swap elements in their books when photos can't be taken while the films are being shown? Other than taking a photo of the signs and a description of the attractions, I haven't been able to think of a way to use those items. I know it's also true of some of the other rides, but I've always managed to take a lot of pictures even though I wasn't supposed to!

I noticed -em, picked journal boxes, which is good because you can always write your thoughts about the ride. Photo mats or frames might be something, that is less useful. Depending on the sizes of the elements, and what they end up looking like, you could maybe make a person's "favorites" page (more for Soarin' than HISTA). Or maybe for a "land" page, that has a little bit of several different places with photos of those random area shots that are hard to give their own layout to.

I'm just mostly guessing, cause it's not like I've USED any of my items yet!

Hi Nancy,
I'm not sure if I will be home or not when you open the rest of the spots at 8pm. I'm doing some tutoring (to support my swap habit!) and don't know if I will be home yet. If no one has chosen Germany by then, could I have it? If someone else wants it, no biggie. Thanks!

Michellepooh, Gotcha down for Germany.. Just confirming you still want the topper & squares? Thanks!!!

Okay, I have you w/ "Living on the Land"!! Elements of choice? Also, I have taken off "Honey"...

I don't want to step on any toes, I know that I deleted it before Karen would have seen it, but the Land was what I signed up as my second group option before I deleted it. I have an idea I've been wanting to use for forever, because the Land is really the only place left that uses the old pavilion symbols.

Epcot swaps are on my "approved" spending list (DH and I got to keep a couple things were were planning pre-cruise, mine is Epcot swaps and an ATG tape gun, have you guys seen those things?)

Hope, I have you down for Land.. Let your creative juices flow!!!
Just let me know your elements!! :)

I will do a shaker for sure, the other TBA. I don't want to duplicate with YodasMom's elements (we don't need 4 journal boxes, for instance). So I will let her pick first.

Aw.....Gee, I was waiting for you to choose first! LOL!

For "Living with the Land", I will choose:
*A topper
*A song lyric/poem/quote

And, Nancy, for my Japan elements, I would like to substitute a topper instead of the slide mounts. So, for Japan, I will do a topper and box and tag.

Okay, I have everyone updated so far!!! Any mistakes let me now.. I'm calling it an evening.. my dry erase board has so much color on it.. I think I'll have to go out and buy new markers.. our kids are so active, as well as DH & I.. but we love it!! :)

Going back to the earlier question about rides that you can't take pictures on - that is something that I initially wondered about with my first ride swaps but I found that I will inevitably use most things. My DH likes to take a picture of the family in front of the sign for the ride if we all ride together. And if the building is interesting looking, I take a picture of that.

I did a layout for Mission Space that used a tag and journalling boxes with a picture of the building because obviously we didn't have any pictures of us riding it. I used the boxes to talk about how my DsD reacted riding it for the first time.

For HISTA, I almost always take a picture of us in the preshow area wearing the 3-D glasses. I do that for all the 3-D shows, I confess. And for Soarin, I like the signage, and I like the CM's uniforms. But I admit, the queue area and pre-show area doesn't lend itself to pictures. But it's my new favorite ride so I will for sure want to incorporate it into my scrapbook somehow!
