can anyone tell me why the age limit so high for this experience, i was hoping to book it for DD 10 , but with an age limit of 13 guess i might have to consider DC

It's just a guess but because Disney is very protective and concerned for the wellfare of its dolphins, they probably want an age that is a little more mature when interacting with them. They are probably afraid a younger child may get carried away and be a little rough on the dolphins. Or perhaps its a liability issue?

Well just from experience I know the dolphins splash alot , and the salt water does sting your eyes. We did this in the bahamas and one of the kids that was in the group was about 8 and he was crying the whole time. If I were his mom I would of been upset considering all the money it costed them for a family of 4, not to enjoy the experience.
just my opinion

Has anyone done this tour at Epcot? What did you think of it?

my fiance & i did this tour in november 2003 & are doing it again with my parents during our wedding week at wdw this march. it was a great experience, started with the tour of living seas, then the backstage area of living seas, the caregiviers & the dolphins, it was very educational & fun to see & interact with the dolphins. i loved hugging them & the picture we got.

as for the 13 & up requirement, my guess would be they want a more mature teen because of liability issues & they dont want kids pulling or becoming over excited with the dolphins. plus with the instructions in the aquarium, kids dont always listen.
