I'm trying to sort out where we will want to eat on our trip in October and I am struggling to find anywhere in Epcot that will suit our family :headache:

I am sure I read a food report somewhere where they walked from Epcot to Beaches and Cream. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes and how you get there? :confused3

Hi Suzy

You get to it between UK and France, out of the International Gateway, takes about 10 mins to walk.

Is it table service you are looking for? or somewhere for a burger?

To be honest, I'm not actually sure what we want! Well I know that we don't want anything too fancy or too expensive. Just somewhere to sit down and eat in pleasant surrounding for a bit with decent food :confused3

If you are not on the Dining plan its a great place, much nicer than the regular counter service within epcot but a lot more expensive. Counter service we usually spend about $30-35 (no tip) at B&C we spend about $60-70.(+tip)
To me if on Dining plan its not worth the credit(unless anyone needs to use up spares) much betting using credits elsewhere.

Hi suzy
We did Beaches and cream on our last trip.
Loved it. Well worth a visit. There are pictures on my trip report if you want to take a look. :thumbsup2 T&T 2nd Thanksgiving day 10

I don't think we'll be on the DDP...depends if the US free dining deal comes out before we book our accomodation and is worthwhile for us (would be the QS one anyway). So for now I'm just planning as if we are not on the DDP.

For the other parks I'm looking at one TS meal and then a QS meal or just snacks as we go for each day. But with Epcot I can't see anything that I want to spend money on TS style, so thought Beaches and Cream would be a compromise :confused3

Ah Ha!!! It was you that gave me the idea of walking out of Epcot to go to Beaches and Cream...I was reading your trip report last week! :rotfl:

Any idea what time of day is the quietest? With 2 youngish children we don't want to wait around for hours to get a table!

We have 20 days of regular DDP to plan for August, having to cut epcot, there are more places there we want to eat than anywhere.
Le Cellier, Tutto Itallia & Teppan Edo are definites, could easy add another 3 but don't want to eat too much in there.

Last time we ate at B&C got there for about 11:40am ready for 12 noon opening, just managed to get everyone in that was in the line, after that they were quoting 30-40 mins. Another time we got there mid afternoon, had a 30 min wait.

I'm confused here!
I'd quite like to try beaches and cream but I thought it was counter service but are you guys talking like it's table service (talking about value for DDP)?

:goodvibes

unfortunately it does count as Table service for the dining plan - I think that is possibly down to the great desserts as the rest is just really burgers etc.

A lot of people say it is a waste of a table service credit but we may well use one of our TS vouchers there as I am determined to try it this year!!:thumbsup2

Ah makes sense!
I actually think we'd use less CS vouchers than TS, or at least have TS left over with days offsite!! :)

:goodvibes

We used a TS credit there and, while I agree it isn't the best value moneywise, we really enjoyed our meal and felt it was worth it to us :) Way better than our mediocre experience at The Flying Fish Cafe (signature restaurant my foot )

We really liked B&C and would like go again in August but agree DDP credits better spent elsewhere

If you check the 2010 DDP listings, there are a number of CS and TS restaurants located in the Boardwalk Area and the Yacht and Beach Clubs. If you have Park Hopping Tickets, you could also get the boat through to Hollywood Studios if there was a particular restaurant there that you like.

Disney’s BoardWalk

CS - BoardWalk Bakery (B,L,D)
CS - Big River Grille & Brewing Works (L,D)
CS - ESPN Club (L,D)
TS - Kouzzina by Cat Cora™ (B,D)
2TS - Flying Fish Cafe (D)

Disney's Yacht & Beach Resorts
CS - Beach Club Marketplace (B,L,D)
CS - Hurricane Hanna’s Grill (L)
CS - Beaches & Cream Soda Shop (L,D)
TS - Cape May Cafe (D)
TS - Captain’s Grille (B,L,D)
TS - Beach Club Breakfast Buffet at Cape May Cafe (B)
2TS - Yachtsman Steakhouse (D)

WE ate at B&C at 3.00 and went straight in but bear in mind it was the begining of December and a very quiet time at Disney

Thanks Tony, I was thinking maybe between the usual lunchtime and dinner time would probably be the quietest time (it usually is in restuarants isn't it!:))

Luv Suzy (who wishes she could work out how to do multiple quotes in her replies :confused3)

Just click on the +" next to the quote button. :thumbsup2
I see we will be there at the same time. :goodvibes

Have you considered ESPN. Decent menu - nothing fancy - but plenty of tables so perhaps not so much trouble getting into as Beaches and Cream.

If you like sport ESPN is the place to be, if you like Ice Cream then Beaches and Cream is the place to be, me? I like both, so hopefully when we stay at the EPCOT resort area this August it will be watching some sport with a large Budweiser or 2, then a walk over to Beach Club for an Ice Cream.
Can't think of anything better at the moment. :)
