Is anyone familiar with the Reception location in Morocco? I was wondering what the view was like from there?

Also I'd love to hear from anyone who has done a Dessert Reception. This is not for a wedding, but for a special group trip. Is it worth the expense? I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thanks in advance.

We had our Epcot Dessert Party for 100 guests at the French Island Upper Terrace. The view and the area is perfect, I was so happy with everything. I would definetly recommend a Dessert party, the food was fabulous and all of our guest loved it.

JoD - Did you do a custom menu or did you select from their dessert menu listings? What did you have, and what was really good? How was the presentation?

It was a custom party but we did go off the dessert menu and chose one of the dessert packages we had 10 different desserts, open bar with beer, wine.soda and coffee and tea and we also served a fruit platter. All of the desserts were fabulous and the fruit was great. I will look for a picture I have of the food that was taken by the photographer, the presentation was unbelievable, the set up was beautiful and the staff was fabulous. I highly recommend it. The view from the French Island is GREAT also. The night we had our party it rained but the show continued and our guests all 100 of them received Mickey rain ponchos and they LOVED it.

We've done a couple parties - but I've not seen the Morocco location - maybe it is around the boat dock area? We've always done one of their pre-made menu parties - I add a fresh fruit platter, and we have coffee, tea and cocoa. I'm thinking 2005 may be time for another one, but we need to see how many of us will be there together. It has always been well worth the cost in my book.

We did a Welcome Party the night before our Intimate Wedding at the UK Upper, and loved it! We had 19 people and it was a perfect evening, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

We also had a Welcome Party at the same place as Melissa, and it was great. Very simple with the basic, cheapest menu, and no additional decorations, and our guests were still blown away. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Wow Firefly Girl! Those pictures are absolutely STUNNING! What a beautiful bride you were! Your special day must have been so magical!

Thanks to all for your input. Unfortunately the only area they have available for my date is Morocco Terrace A and I can't find anyone who's familiar. They've assured me it's a good area, but I'm concerned the 2 little islands on that side will be in the way. I need to make my decision by Monday though! But the Reception sounds wonderful!

Melissa and Firefly,

I was wondering if there was any special reason that you guys chose upper UK rather than lower UK. The reason I ask is because we are planning on having our Illuminations party/welcome party/rehearsal party at the lower terrace and I am just trying to make sure that I picked the right one, lol.

Thanks :)
Jennifer

For me, UK Lower was already booked! But Lower is right on the water, you will love it!

For me it was the UK lower was a little more pricey then what we wanted. The lower is a very nice spot too!

I would like to post one warning. If there is any threat of inclimate weather they can make the decision to move you inside and not all the back up locations are good.

This happened to us. We had a custom dinner about $45/person and were scheduled at the upper UK. We were moved to the World showcase without them even asking me. Our back up location was supposed to be the American Adventure VIP room.

When we did go out to see Illuminations the guide that was supposed to secure our location had let people in and we had to share our space with the public.

My fireworks pictures were ruined needless to say. So we paid well over $2 grand for nothing special.

Wow...I can't believe they didn't keep your location private! That is horrible :( I'm so sorry that your night didn't go as planned :(

Firefly (or anyone else), do you have any pics of the Upper UK, we have reserved the French Arm, but our EM has suggested using the UK Upper instead. We are headed down for our PS next week, but were wondering if anyone had actual pictures of the event taking place there?

Josh

We had an event on the French Island Arm and loved the location. I would go back there in a second. Great view and it was a bit more private than some other locations because of the trees between it and the pedestrian walkway.

When we booked our Epcot Dessert Party for our wedding, we looked at Morocco and unfortunately, we thought the islands would be a problem.

We booked Isola West (by Italy). To me, this is the perfect viewing spot.
We had cordials/coffee and soft drinks and bananas foster. It was great.

The only other thing we had to purchase was a "plant wall" to be sure no one but our guests were allowed in.

dallastxcpa- Did Disney say why they let the public in your private spot?? I am soooo sorry that happened! I clicked on your link and I think your pics are beautiful. Who was your photographer?

Hi there,
Please let us have more details of your wedding. We are long time Epcot fans from Ireland and intend to get married there on August 1st, but we are at a loss as to how get ourselves under the fireworks at Italy for the magic of our day. We expect at least 100 guests, and we would value your advice.

We booked everything through our wedding coordinator. She was very helpful and sent us loads of menu's to choose from. I think your group may be too large for Isola West. We only had 60 people. But, the area next to ours was for larger groups.

Check with your wedding coordinator and good luck!
