Hi,

I am interested in booking a dessert party for next May, but was told by someone at EPCOT Events that I couldn't book until 90 days out.

I know I've seen others on this board talk about how their's was all set much earlier than that.

Do people who book the party as part of their wedding get to book earlier than someone just wanting to reserve it for a "special occasion?"

I'm looking to bring about 20 people, so I'm ready to start booking my accomodations, but I'm reluctant if I can't be sure that I can book the party...

Thanks in advance....
Beth

When we booked our dessert party as part of our custom wedding, we were able to book it when we signed our contract, which was 8 months out from the wedding.

we booked our dessert party when it was added in our contract, too. wait until you see the menus that are offered for you to chose from. so many delicious treats!!

So do you both think that I was given wrong information, or is it because I'm wanting to book it outside of a wedding event?

Thanks - by the way!!! :)

Beth - I do think that this maybe that we got to book ours as part of our contract.

So usually if you do book other events through EPCOT you do have to wait the 90 days.

The only other thing I can suggest is trying to get put through to Group Dining and seeing if they can book you in sooner.

In the past I have attended Dessert Parties at EPCOT not through a wedding but these were usually booked way ahead because they were part of a convention.

Beth - I think that if you are booking outside of a wedding or convention you have to wait until the 90 day mark to book. But I would try Sam's suggestion....it never hurts to ask!

To contact group dining, do I just call the wdw-dine number?

How many guests do you need to have for the dessert shin-dig?
My parents are celebrating their 25th anniversay in May 2005...already booked on a Disney Cruise and then 4 nights at our home resort, SSR. Any suggestions? My brother and I will be there, potentially my aunt and uncle and Grandpa as well...just trying to get some ideas.

Hi Beth,
In just reading some of the replies, and where you only want to have 20 people, it seems as though if you are having a custom wedding you will be able to book it withing your contract. For Intimates and possibly other event(Vow renewals and such), you will more than likely be able to only book 90 days out.

Adam Tidd is who I spoke with, and that is what I told as well.

Darla :)

Just so y'all know, vow renewals are not considered seperate entities from wedding by Disney. You can either have a custom wedding/VR, or and intimate wedding/VR. The booking of Illumincations or other events is not based upon if you are a wedding or VR, but rather if you are custom (which your EM will book for you), or an intimate (which you must book at Disney's standard booking timetable).
