We are thinking of going to Epcot for a few nights for the wine and food festival. Can someone tell me how bad the construction is and if it interferes with the atmosphere?

You won't notice the construction when you're in the World Showcase or enjoying most of Food & Wine. There are two booths over by Test Track/Mouse Gears that are surrounded by walls, but the World Showcase is still wonderful.

ditto. most construction is around fountain and club cool area, and ellens ride
otherwise showcase and food and wine is its usual awesome. (france is under construction but only in rear, you can see it clearly on the new Highline transporter) i would go, crowds are not very heavy

Does anyone know when the construction at the Epcot entrance will be finished?

I'll find out next week. From photos, it looks like most of the construction is from the gate to Spaceship Earth and then where the fountain is being taken out.
On the sides and World Showcase doesn't look too bad.

Yes, to confirm, the only really noticeable and impactful construction is at the front entrance and near the fountain. It really won't affect your enjoyment of the World Showcase, and certainly not the Food & Wine either. Everything is still perfectly accessible.

If you can enter through the International Gateway you will barely notice the construction! If you take the bus there, UGH! It’s pretty ugly at the entrance!
we took Uber to Beach Club and walked to the Gateway! Best decision of our trip!!!

Disney does a great job at trying to hide construction. We were there the day after the majority of the walls went up in September and barely noticed them. Yes they were there but did not hinder our visit at all. You'll have a great time and barely see a construction wall in World Showcase!

It is all over the place at Epcot but typically for Disney, it is fairly unobtrusive. Just a bunch of wooden barriers. We did see the extensive construction behind France for the new Ratatouille ride when we were on the Skyliner, before it broke down.

As long as you stick with WS only you will be fine. FW though we did not find pleasant yesterday.

Anyone care to read all of this and find a completion date?

Anyone care to guess the odds that there actually is a completion date? The very first sentence in the linked thread has likely the best possible answer out there.
