After reading lurkyloo's PJ and TR I am considering changing over to an Epcot event. I was wondering if anyone (other than lurkyloo of course :lovestruc ) had done an epcot ceremony and had pictures of the actual ceremony. I really loved Japan and France while we were there but am confused about the set up for either. I also would like to know what pros and cons you had in your Epcot ceremony. (Lurkyloo you can post too! I didn't want it to seem like I was excluding you  )

No pictures yet but we are having our ceremony at the United Kingdom Pavillion in September.

When having an Epcot wedding it will have to take place in the morning. It must end before 10 am. I've been told a starting time of 9 am. You have to consider if you want to get up very early to get ready and about your guests doing it too. Con: You have to use Disney Photography AND Videography....their prices are ridiculous for the quality you will receive (from what I read on the boards). Pro: The amazing experience of truly getting married in a theme park at Walt Disney. Pro: the authenticity of a Epcot site...it will truly look like you traveled abroad to get married. Having an Epcot wedding automatically puts you in the Wishes category and you have more choices for reception and what you would like to do compared to Escape.

If you go to STVS, Stan has sneak peeks of actual weddings taking place in Japan. You can watch the video and see what it would look like. If you decide to get married in France it will take place in front of the fountain with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.

I hope that helps.

Here is a photo of our Epcot Italy ceremony. Our wedding was this past November. It was a perfect spot. Both us and our guests loved it. At the time of our wedding we were allowed to use an outside photographer (we used Misty) although I think even if I had to use an Disney photographer we would have had our ceremony in Italy. The ceremony was over the bridge in Italy and there was nothing better then all of us walking over the bridge.

Here is a photo in the back of Italy with my girls before the ceremony.

Let me know if you would like to see more photos (I have over 3,500).

That totally sucks about the photography! I am 100% with the Roots. I guess that means it's back to the drawing boards. :sad2: Thanks so much for the pics and advice guys! :grouphug:

I feel for you. We signed our contract before Oct of last yr so we get to have the Roots in Italy. You can have them outside the parks still. Disney really needs to revise this or they won't be getting my money for our vow renewal in 5 0r 10 yrs....:thumbsup2

Where are you having the ceremony now and how many people? Goodluck!

I guess we are going to go with my original pick, Seabreeze point. I don't know :confused3 I really wanted an Epcot ceremony but it's not worth it if it cannont be capture properly. I was looking at our guestlist just this morning and as of now it looks like 40ish people. I guess I have a while to think about it. Maybe disney will change thier minds before August when I call .

I truly feel for you because I'm in the same situation. It's quite disheartening this photography situation. It all comes down to if you are willing to be a risk taker and take a chance with DPS? Unfortunately I had no time to decide. Truly use the additional time you have to way your options. Good Luck.

Linda your pictures are beautiful! Did you do a TR?

I do feel bad for you girls who have to deal with the photography issues. It stinks.

Thanks Lynn - no I never did do a report. I really wanted to but never did. I was just laid off from my job as of yesterday so now I will have some time on my hands and maybe I can do one (along with searching for a new job). I will also be going through all of our 3,500 photos from Misty.

As far as having to use a Disney photographer goes, I don't remember but what is the smallest package you can get from Disney? Maybe new brides can do pre pictures (outside the park) with an outside photographer, use the Disney photographer for the in park ceremony only and then as long as your reception is outside of the park use the outside photographer for post ceremony and reception photos. I am sure this would be an added expense but it might be away of getting around the situation.

Linda

I think I'd almost be willing to pay for the smallest disney package as long as I could have The Roots also. For me, it would be totally worth it.

The smallest package they offer is 3 hours. They do not depict it as a ceremony only package...you would have to get them for 3 hours and use it as you see fit. I hope this helps.
