Epcot & candy?

I did that on our last trip...there is a thread on here about it somewhere. Morocco doesn't have any candy, and amazingly France doesn't have any. Canada and UK have LOTS of choices - the most popular from those on the dis are the Flake and Aero, although there are tons of options. Japan and China have large varieties of snacks and treats that are fun to try. Japan has Pocky which are good. China has many interesting things that are cookie like. I haven't found one I like yet, but they are fun to try. Germany has several options too, but the Cola Gummies are great. Norway has several options too - the mint chocolate cookies are great, and the Smorr Buxx are to die for. Mexico - stay away from the chocolate. Mexican chocolate is not tasty compared to American and European flavors. But they have a really good peanut butter Marzapan treat instead. I didn't check in America's gift shop, they may or may not have candy. :confused3 Italy has a zillion things to try and they are all quite yummy.

Coffee Crisp chocolate bars from Canada - mmm yummy! Calorie free of course :rolleyes1

The chocolate in Germany is excellent (something Sport). And a big square (larger than personal size is about $1.50). Yummy.

My kids love the candy selection in Japan. And DD really liked the smarties in Canada. I think of smarties as hard sugar pellets that come in a tube, but in Canada, they're more like M&Ms.

I personally like the licorice altoids they sell in the UK shop. I found a variety of candy in the section where they sell teapots.

One thing she DIDN'T like was the candy she got in Mexico. It looked kind of like skittles (candy covered small balls), but apparently the thing the candy was covering was a tamarind seed. It was very bitter! So skip that one. Good thing it was only $1.

I always have to buy candy in Japan. Try the Pocky and the YanYan. The Pocky was already described and the YanYan are these cups of breadstick-like cookies and chocolate to dip them in. They are delicious. For non-chocolate, try the Strawberry Hi-Chew. They're in packages sort of like Starburst and are a little similar, only better.

This may seem like a silly question....

How do you guys transport your chocolates back home w/out it melting in the HOT Florida sun :sunny: ? Does everyone just bring a cooler?

Or do you have the store send it back to your Disney resort?

I know there are some cooler months where the chocolate isn't likely to melt, but what about those other months?

p.s.-- In NJ, I've seen Pocky in Stop & Shops in the cookie aisle. Strangely, they're made in France rather than Japan. The ones I buy in the Asian food markets are made in Japan.

That made me smile. DH is Mexican and we lived there for several years. I learned to be careful. They like their sweets mixed with sour or spicy. Tamarind is a flavor I learned to avoid early on. Just hearing it makes my mouth pucker. I will let him buy and eat to his hearts content.

Ritter Sport!!! Sooo goood! The milk chocolate is the best. There is also a dark mint, hazelnut and a a milk chocolate covered tea cookie. Just to give you a heads most grocery stores are carrying Ritter Sport with Lindt etc.

Try the Melksjoklade chocolate bars from Norway. You cannot get them in the states, they are $5.00 but sooo worth it.

UK and Germany have the best selection of candy!
Good Luck!
