Epcot Boats Question

I have seen the boats at Epcot on the world showcase lake before. Are these boats still operational? And are they open to all as just another way to get to the other side of the world showcase?

They are open to everyone in the park and they just go from one side of WS to the other. Enjoy!

Yes these are called the Friendship boats and they travel from one side of WS to the other.
Unless you are talking about the other friendship boats that go to the epcot area resorts and epcot and mgm...those are free too!

Anybody can use these boats. But don't think you'll be saving any time. You can walk from one landing to the other almost as fast as the boat takes, and that's not counting the time you'll spend waiting in line.

Yes, but they do help when little feet are too tired to make it from one landing to the other... We used them before our mid-afternoon park departure to shorten the walk for the kids to the park exit.

The IllumiNations Cruises are given on very small (hold up to 12 people) open-air Pontoon boats (and one on the "Breathless" a reproduction of a mid-20th century speedboat.)
The Friendships are very large enclosed vessels. There are the two on the WS Lagoon and several other similar boats that cruise taking guests back and forth between Epcot and MGM with stops at the "Epcot Resorts" along the way.

Love the IllumiNations cruise.
A bit pricey these days, but its a fun experience.
