Epcot Baymax Wait Times

The schedule on wdwent.com also states "park opening to park close" for Baymax - with added hours for evening EMH days!
We just booked a last minute trip for the end of the month and DGrd4 is going to freak out to meet Baymax - her fav movie right now - I'm planning an Epcot morning just to see him - but I know better than to tell her in case he is a no show by then ;) - I can't wait to see her face if he's there!!

We tried meeting Baymax last year Spring Break at HS. The line was so long and slow we gave up. I did get some shots of the kids with Baymax standing behind them while they stood in line. Glad he will be at Character Spot in Epcot where you can get fastpass. We were also disappointed last year that there were no plush Baymaxs available at HS. What was up with that. That was an awarding winning movie. They should have had more merchandise available.

FP is not available for Baymax.

The Character Spot FP is for Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy on the other side of the breezeway.

I hope the wait is shorter than 30 minutes if we go first thing. Our church had a family night and played Big Hero 6 and someone dressed up like Baymax. So my kids have seen him once, kinda.

Thanks for the heads up about Baymax. I did not realize he was not part of Character Spot FP. Very good to know.

Don't want him to be like our Anna and Elsa wait a few years back (when they were first in Norway)!! That Florida sun was killer!!!!!

I will make notes on my FW day to go straight to Baymax!!!!!!!!!!

He is super cute. We saw him last year at HS, but could not take the slow line. Went and saw Mickey instead.

Hmmm. Just saw the part about 20 mins at 6pm. That might be another strategy. To wait till things die down!

I have to remember, I will be there during Spring Break!!!

Something tells me things are going to be a little cray crayer than usual this year. What will all the construction etc.

I passed on booking MK FP for the night they will be open till 1am. Hope I will not regret it.

Was almost gonna do 3 days in MK, just to cover all my bases.

Ended up with this: Arrive, chill/Epcot/MK/HS/Epcot/MK/Half day AK. Five full park days! Gotta love it.

Was even considering being disloyal and going to HP at Universal. But I am true blue Disney:earsboy:.

Never too many days.

We are doing Spring Break as well but spending the first few days at Universal and then 6 days at WDW. I don't think Baymax will get as busy at Epcot as he did at DHS. A lot of families avoid Epcot, especially with Soarin' down. His waits at Epcot are already less than half what they were at DHS. They were seeing 1 hour+ waits easily. Part of that was because Hiro had to take breaks. This M&G is just Baymax. Since he's a machine, in the literal and figurative sense:), he doesn't need breaks.

Wait, he's a machine? I thought it was some sort of blow up suit :confused3

I don't think it's an actual person. Otherwise, he would have to take breaks, like Hiro used to do. @hiroMYhero said something in the following post that makes me think it is no longer a human being.

Actually, Baymax has a CM friend as well as a whole team behind the scenes. He can only fist bump and give slight hugs due to limited arm movements. Only Hiro could converse and direct the interaction.

Baymax only has to walk offstage and then magically reappear versus a mandatory 15 minute break as Hiro needed. That's why the line keeps moving.

I too was almost gonna do Universal. Have a niece who is a huge HP fan. Hope she will not be too upset w/me. Every year we talk about including Universal in our plans. I was going to stay on Disney property and just go over for a day with a 2 park ticket.

Decided not to.

I am concerned about crowds in MK because of all the stuff on around WDW.

So, maybe Baymax will be easier to see. Maybe all of Epcot will be a breeze! I enjoy it every year after the madhouse that MK can be. Such nice wide open space and the scale of things is great!

Baymax that we saw at HS was exactly as in the film. He is a big puff of parachute like material. And yes, I believe there is a CM in there somewhere???

My plans are a little less organized this year, so hope we don't get frustrated.

Oh, I get it now:idea: He is a human, but Baymax has a lot of "friends" helping him out. Whereas, Hiro was just Hiro. That makes sense. It would be cool if Baymax were a robot though:)

Now Sonia ~ preserve the magic, you must!:yoda:

Baymax IS a robot who provides personal healthcare. He has a lot of friends to keep the line moving! 8-)

Does anyone know how long Baymax is supposed to be there? Do I stand any chance of seeing him in August?

The speculation has been Baymax will meet for only a few months. No one knows and Disney doesn't usually announce when a meet and greet will close.

@MickeyWaffles ~ when you were at the front of the line, could you see Baymax or were you led to a separate room to visit him?

If you were led to a separate room to meet Baymax, there may be two rooms operating. That would also account for the short waits as compared to DHS.

We were in EPCOT on January 8th and Baymax had about a 5 minute wait to see him .... the CM pointed out that they're currently painting some of the walls in that area to get ready for a Meet & Greet area for Inside Out. I would imagine once Sadness shows up (our daughter says she's the only one who actually matters :P ) Baymax will make his exit. The space isn't big enough.
