I have seen some amazing shots of the Epcot ball with a reflection of it on water....I think the monorail tracks are in the shots as well...can anyone tell me where to stand to get a shot like that??? Thanks
There are a few spots I can think of to get shots like this. I'm sure there's more out there.
1) At night looking toward SSE from the World Showcase side of the lagoon.
2) At a time when the Fountain of Nations isn't "going" and is still and you can get your shot high enough to catch the reflection in it's pool.
3) From Pop Century's Generation Gap bridge, during fall/winter when the leaves on the trees are relatively thin, looking toward Epcot.
If you were able to get ariel shots it'd open up a whole other list there too.
Pretty sure I know the shot you are talking about, it is taken from the path in front of the Land pavilion. Remember you'll need a tripod for a shot like that!
There are a few places I can think of. One I use often is the section of the pathway between Showcase Plaza and the McDonald's refreshment stand by Canada. Turn right when coming up the main central path, and go to the benches along the pond - you get a nice view of SE over the reflecting pond:
The other is to go across the lake, to Germany or Italy....both have pavilion sections that extend out on the lakefront, and look straight across the main lake to Spaceship Earth. If it's a calm day you'll get a nice reflection...when I snapped this one it was more windy and the lights reflected were more diffuse:
I don't have any daytime shots uploaded at the moment - but I've taken alot of shots from that first location - it's one of my favorite views of Spaceship Earth.
Thankyou Crazydadguy. Sorry didn't respond sooner...when I first registered at this site, I apparently forgot to have all my posts tracked, so I lost a few older ones!
if you could have caught the monorail on that shot.....wow, its already great, but me being the monorail fan that I am, it would make it that much better!!

Thanks! I do love the monorails too. I would have loved to have gotten that shot, but at the time I was with a wife, an 18-month-old, and two sister-in-laws... it would be hard to convince them to let me wait for the train to pass by.
Something to put on the checklist for a future trip!
