Epcot area resorts with toddlers?

We are looking into staying at an epcot area resort (Yacht club standard room or Boardwalk villas studio) in February (2nd part of a split stay)
Our kids will be 2 and 5 at the time of the trip
In the convenience to walk to Epcot / HS and the deluxe amenities worth the lack of in-your-face Disney theming and space vs a family suite at AOA? (Same price with AP discount)
If so, which would you suggest? YC vs BWV?

We literally just got home today. We have a 17 mos old. We were at the swan (which I don’t recommend). But, I did like the Epcot area resorts. We are usually Poly ppl. But getting to Epcot from Poly is a disaster these days IMO. We loved walking to Epcot & entering through IG. I was just discussing our next trip & think we will do a villa for the space & DS eats terribly at the parks. I was thinking maybe I can get him to eat at least some meals better in the Villa. It’s just too much commotion even at counter service for him. He eats out fine at home but not there. We also end up sitting in the dark once he goes to bed b/c he needs complete darkness to sleep. With a villa I won’t have to do that. And we really dislike the busses so we try to get resorts that have options other than just the busses.

With kids that age the sand pool at storm-a-long beach can’t be beat. I’d recommend Yacht or Beach Club based on that alone. Personally we prefer the more subdued theming and the Epcot areas resorts have so much to offer in a small place. When my oldest was still falling asleep in a stroller each night my favorite thing to do was take her back into Epcot via the IG after dark in her stroller. Let her browse a few shops or do one of the craft tables and by the time we strolled back she’d be asleep.

The BWV has a playground area that is nice for your kiddos. It's right next to the clown slide pool, but separated by fencing. There are also two other quieter pools if your kiddos don't like the clown slide pool. The pool areas at BWV are also a bit smaller than the pool at YC, so it would be easier to keep track of them.

I haven't stayed at either, but I'm terrified of clowns.....so Yacht Club would get my vote.

Now my kid won't care where we stay (she's 3 and will be almost 4 on our next trip). As long as there's a pool she'll be happy.

In my opinion it is definitely worth it to stay at the deluxe resorts. The transportation is convenient, though by Feb I'm assuming the skyliner will be running again so transportation from AOA could be better or worse depending on your opinion. I love the proximity of the Epcot resorts, but also, they are a lot more relaxing. The pace of the resort feels different. I think I would pick Boardwalk. I love the Yacht Club pool, but with two little kids that would be a bit stressful to keep an eye on both in such a big area.

I was really excited about the SAB pool (it was actually the reason why I was considering YC) but I guess February can have unpredictable weather therefore not necessarily swimming temperatures, and also I have read a few comments that the size of the pool complex can make it difficult with little ones...
I guess I will stick with BWV!

We just got back from a trip. I can't say enough great things about the BWV. We did a triple split stay and it was our favourite. We loved walking to Epcot and HS, it was bliss. The walk is so easy and we beat the boats, I have no idea why people wait for those.
We had a 3.5 year old and a 10 month old with us. It was perfect. We had a Studio Villa.

Did your toddler sleep on the pullout sofa or the kid Murphy bed? Do they provide bed rails?

We stayed for 2 nights in a BWV studio with an almost 4 year old and 2.5 year old. My family stayed on the Inn side many times when I was younger, so it does hold a special place in my heart. I hadn’t stayed there in years.

My daughter LOVED the Dumbo Murphy bed.
While the theming isn’t overly Disney, I just LOVE the theming of the Boardwalk. It’s so colorful, happy and immersive. They do children’s activities out on the Village Green. My kids loved running under the parachute they had out.

We had a studio overlooking the Village Green and loved it! It was a Garden/Pool view, but it really had a partial view of the Boardwalk. It was just a short walk from the lobby elevator. Really enjoyed that location. I had requested the Village Green view and was really happy with it.

We normally travel with more people and stay in a larger villa, but the studio was comfortable for us as a family with 2 adults and 2 little kids. We were only there 2 nights but I would have stayed longer, it was just a very short visit!

I would choose BWV over YC. While YC gives you access to Stormalong Bay, I think BWV overall is more enjoyable for small children. Just my opinion!

ETA: I saw you mentioned bedrails for the Murphy bed ... my daughter didn’t need them in the Murphy bed and my 2.5 year old was in a pack & play. I don’t know if you can request them, but the bell man suggested taking the 2 dining chairs and pushing them up to the side of the Murphy bed if we were nervous about our 4 year old rolling out. He said lots of people do that because you need to put the chairs somewhere!

Our 3.5 year old used the murphy bed and loved it, you can request bed rails - we don't need them she has been in a bed since 18 months old.
Our 10 month old used the provided pack & play.

No worries, you will really love BWV. I'll try to find that room number. I do have it somewhere TBH I haven't finished unpacking yet!! OOPS.
I told my Husband we had a Garden View, I was fussing with the baby when we got to our room and he went out on the balcony and came back and said "Well, that's some garden view" I was shocked at what I saw, it was amazing. And to be able to see Spaceship earth, I was in heaven.

That was a Village Green view. Mostly studios with pool/garden view.
