Epcot app

My dad just called me from Epcot. He was in the German Pavillion looking at the clocks and noticed someone with a phone out making the clocks go off etc. He saw the person in a shop a few minutes later asked him about it and the person said that he was using an app. Anyone have any idea on what app that might be? I looked and didn't see anything right off the bat.
