I heard a rumor that 25th anniversary plans were underway for Epcot. One of the rumors is that they are considering bringing back the tapestry parade.

If the rumor is true - do you think they would start the parade Jan 1, 2007 or wait until closer to October. I will be there over Christmas and would love to see that parade again. :cool1:

What year is Epoct's 25th anniversary, 2007? I would guess it may kick off on the date the park opened. What day did the Happiest Celebration start, the day DL opened or sooner?
I wonder what else they will do for the celebration? Probably a kick butt illuminations and put up some weird decorations on spaceship earth, OH GOD maybe they will paint it PINK and transform it into a huge sphere birthday cake!!! :crazy2: They may finally take down that wand though.
I think in honor of the 25th they should use the wonders of life pavilion as a showcase for the history of EPCOT and Epcot, maybe have a tribute to extinct attractions and display some of the animatronics from them.
They should also unveil a new country in world showcase, I would say Spain because the DCL is going there this summer, or some other good choices would be Russia, Greece or a southern African country.
Well I guess only time will tell what kind of hoopla there will be...

DL opened on July 17, 1955. The 50th celebration began on May 5, 2005 (because Eisner thought it was clever that 05-05-05 was 50-50-50 backwards...seems he got a lot of things backwards towards the end of his reign! :teeth: )

How do you know that Eisner had anything to do with that decision?

You have to admit that is somewhat clever for the 50th anniversary, although your right he got a lot of things backwards...
I did some searching and found out Epcot opened October 1st 1982, so October 1st 2007 would be the 25th anniversary date. I assume it would kick off earlier that year, May or June thru the end of 2008.

Yeah they will probably kick it off before Memorial day, and run it up until Christmastime of the Holiday season the following year.

Disney runs their promos more or less 18 months at a time, so they can get 2 summers out of them.
