Epcot after hours need park admission?

Just wondering if we need park admission if we want to try the new Epcot after hours wind down. We only have time for this the day we are at AK and don't have hoppers. Since no rides are part of this I am hoping we can just go in for the food and drinks.

Disney's site says Epcot admission is required and not part of the price of admission. So you'd either need to only visit Epcot that day or spring for the park hopper
