EP rope drop is back

Does this mean the generous half hour early entry will begin soon? That’s not even enough time to get to the Starbucks or Joffreys!

I bet it will. I would think reinstating some form of rope drop process is the only way this could happen. Sounds like the 30 minute head start is essentially just something to get you in front of this mass of people for your first ride.

If the 30 minute early entry that is replacing EMH turns out to be just letting you through the turnstiles early without actually letting you IN (i.e., just getting you to the front of the RD crowd and not able to actually ride even one ride before official opening), I predict you will see a MAJOR MELTDOWN on these boards!

I just went looking for the announcement of the early entry benefit on the Disney Park Blog and I cannot find it. Links from the Disney website to that blog post are also broken. Curious.

Naw - I bet it lets you on the rides. But 30 minutes likely won’t get you much more than 1 ride since there will still be a decent crowd of on-property guests to contend with. So when you come off that first ride you will be dumped into the long lines formed by the rope drop rush.

If they wanted people to perceive the change as a net positive, they should have kept it 60 minutes early entry. Then it would have been like morning EMH, except at every park, every day. That would at least be a tangible improvement (over morning EMH at least, still too bad for evening EMH lovers). But adding early entry to all parks while simultaneously reducing it to a measly (and largely worthless) 30 minutes isn't really much of an improvement.

Maybe they will just bring back EMH!!!! Fingers crossed!!!!!!

Early entry looks like it’s coming soon. I think it’ll work well for onsite guests. Off site, no. But if they unveil it around the return of fireworks, people will be less disappointed. Easier to roll with it. Then when the distraction of fireworks excitement fades, they release the FP replacement. Then offsite will have another option beside being behind the onsite ropedrop crowd, they could buy FP replacement with the money saved offsite

WDW mission is everybody high per capita spending. No matter how you manage to save money, Disney figures out how to make up for that.

I made a breakast reservation along the Boardwalk to enter from there. Not dealing with this ugly mess
