I believe the sampler platter at Marrakesh is not on the dining plan, correct?

Are there any other entrees at Marrakesh, Coral Reef, Kona or Maya Grill that are not abailable on the dining plan?

Which One? The Royal Feast? or the other? or both? I wasn't aware... Please if anyone knows of these or others please post

Yes, I was thinking about the Royal Feast. Maybe I´m wrong and it IS on the dining plan. I just somehow assumed that since it is in a category of its own and includes appetizers and is quite expensive that it would be excluded.

There are reports that Marrakesh will permit basic DDP users to order the multi-course fixed price menu options with an upcharge.

Nala,
What would the upcharge be? Where can I find info on this? Marakesh is one of the ADR's we want and using DDP- Is it only the Royal Feast or also theother multicourse meal as well? Iforget the name of that one- Will have to go back & check- Again, can you point me in the direction for more info on this one?

Does anyone know what is not included on the dining plan at California Grill? I would be interested in hearing on how they handle the Sushi.

MARRAKESH - The upcharge price for the Royal Feast is $5.99 (possibly $5.95, but around there). This upcharge is for everyone on the DDP and DxDP.

CALIFORNIA GRILL - The only sushi not allowed as an appetizer on the DxDP is the Snake in the Grass and Yoshi's Deluxe Platter. You can order these as entrees but not as appetizers (even though they are listed as appetizers for everyone else). If you are on the DDP, you don't get an appetizer anyway, but you can order either of these items as your entree.

Thanks for clarifying! Do you know whether everyone at the table needs to order the Royal Feast?

Thank you for the info. We are on the DXDDP. Do you know if I would be able to get these 2 appetizers you listed as an app. w/ an upcharge?

Condorman,
That made me still a bit confused... So even if others order a diff entree they will also becharged the upcharge from one person ordering the Royal Feast?
I understand the upcharge to the person ordering it but are they seriously upcharging $5.99 per person at the table? That just doesn't seem to make sense! Please clarify that for me- TIA!

I think others at the table can´t order different entrees. I think either everyone or no one needs to order the Royal Feast.

Freyja,
That just doesn't make sense! The Royal Feast is not meant to feed 6 people! They are treating it as a table meal for an entire group? I am seriously rethinking this one- Seems to complicated to actually be able to enjoy- We may just stick w/ O'Hana's as our choice in place of Marakesh :confused3

It's not like going to a 4-star restaurant where everyone at the table needs to get the degustation menu if one person orders it. It's not served family style at Marrakesh, a la Ohana or WCC. It's served on a single plate for the one who orders it. The others at the table can order whatever they want. I know when you look at allearsnet.com's menu and it says $41.95 per person you are lead to believe it must be ordered by everyone. I have gotten this item by myself with my dining companions ordering their own dishes. It's not a problem. Simply because it is $41.95, they charge you extra because that price is a little above and beyond what they want people to spend there.

Sadly, no. I understand what you want to do, and trust me I'd do it myself if I could. You can either pay OOP for those, and then get your included app, entree and dessert (a lot of food!) or simply opt to get one of those sushi apps as your entree instead. I have never heard of anyone paying an extra $5-7 and getting one of these as their apps. As for their other sushi options, they are all pretty filling and just as good. IMHO, the best sushi in all of WDW is at Kimono's in the Swan. Unfortunately, it's not on any dining plan.

Only the person(s) who orders the Feast are charged extra. If others at the table order something different, they will not be charged anything extra. Check out this review. It has a recent visit to Marrakesh that will get you thinking: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1961141&page=2
