Entrance area at MK

Can someone describe the entrance area at the MK to me?

I cannot remember what it looks like or the order that things happen (scan tickets then security or vice versa).

My DH and DS10 are taking the Magic Behind the Steam Trains tour on our only MK day. They do not finish until after 10:00am, losing an hour of prime ride time.

I am hoping that I can go with them as far as the gate, they enter and then hand their tickets back over the gate to me.

That way, when I take our other 2 DS back at opening(and DH/DS10 are still on the tour), I can get fast passes for all of us to use later in the day.

Make sense?

Thanks!

Since FastPasses are limited to ONE at at time (for the most part) you'd only really be able to count on getting ONE before everyone was back together anyway.

Although I would not want to CHANCE this kind of activity...
I guess if you feel that it would be WORTH "handing a ticket over a fence" I guess you could.

It would not be too hard just as the first people entered through the turnstyles to turn right around and hand you back their tickets right at the gate.

You probably should not hand tickets "over the fence". That is a "suspicious" activity in the eyes of Disney.

I suppose you can argue your way around that stating the obvious reason, fetching fastpasses.

There is a large concourse outside the MK turnstiles and also a large area inside and in front of the train station. The entire boundary is occupied by turnstiles and every now and then a gate.

I can't imagine that a CM would have a problem with you walking your kids to the turnstiles and then getting their tickets back from them. They are kids, you are sending them off on a tour, and you don't want to risk them losing their tickets, I see no big deal in that.

When you get off the boat/monorail/etc. you first go through security. If you are just dropping them off and can leave all bags at your room you'll save yourself the hassle of waiting on line. After security you go to the turnstiles where they will scan their cards. Just tell the CM that you're dropping your kids off for a tour and want to make sure that you get their tickets back so they don't lose them.

I agree with MareSINY...I can't imagine them having a problem with u getting the tickets back from the kids. As much as we pay for those tickets, I never allow my DD to carry it around. With regards to the park entrance...here goes... Disney resort buses drop u off right at the turnstiles. If you park...(transportation/ticket center) u will take a tram to transport to MK. Ur choices r the monorail or ferryboat. If u r arriving via monorail or ferry from GF,CR,or PR, there is a special walkway that takes about 10 minutes to lead u to MK. At the MK entrance monorail riders closests turnstile is on the left. Boat and bus riders closest is on the right. U will come to the security entrance first. Have your tickets in hand. Then u will walk to the actual ticket turnstiles. There u may let ur kids pass through and then get the tickets back after admission. Thats it...hope this helped u. :earsboy:

Just so you know..l I am the KEEPER OF THE TICKETS in my family. Every trip, we all walk through the gates, and then everyone turns and hands them all back to me!!! so we've never been stopped. I do this because this keeps them all in one place, and then I can go by myself and get everyone fast passes. Even though we all ride together, there is no need for all of us to stand in the FP distribution line!!

So I see nothing wrong or questionable with what you are asking. On several trips we have not even used our FP and handed them to other people who were entering parks as we were leaving. So I don't see any difference in this experience, and you getting some for your family for later.

P.S. I just read that even though you won't be allowed to ride a FP attraction before the first time listed on your tix, you will be allowed on after the time is up. so don't worry about your time frame too much.

The problem here is that the OP will not be entering the park with her husband and son. Thus she will be passing the tickets over the turnstile. Many CM may she this as trying to get in two people on one ticket.
