I apologize. I did read your post as snarky, and I shouldn’t have. Just frustrated, and I’m sorry.

maybe this post should be changed to is anyone enthusiastic about Disney anymore. ive been feeling lately that if you say anything positive or 'look at the bright side' of anything disney it's met with great disdain on the boards, comments, etc. Everyone is just hating on Disney itself, disney genie plus is just the last straw of it all. makes me sad actually. i get why, i even agree with so much of it, but it makes me feel upset i guess, kind of down, because it's the only thing that's my hobby i guess that i love so much.
Disney is a for profit, private corporation. For both good and bad, myself included, many of us have way too much emotion invested. If the product is no longer appealing, don’t buy it, spend your vacation dollars elsewhere.
Disney doesn’t actually “owe” customers anything, and the public doesn’t owe Disney anything.

Then maybe the op should have just asked “are you enthusiastic about Genie”I thought this was the “Enthusiastic about Genie+” thread? Your post belongs on the Genie+ thread where the posters are p!$$!ng and moaning about it.
The jury is still out on "tons of same day availability". We shall see. If there is, then I like the new system, except having to pay for Tier one rides that can only be accessed by scoring a boarding pass.As I've said, it's not something that's been free for a decade. It's something new that Disney has never offered before.
Something free was discontinued -- I get being upset about that.
But what's being offered isn't the same thing, they aren't slapping a price tag on FP+. You aren't now paying extra for the "privilege" of having to play your entire trip 60+ days in advance, paying extra to be limited to a single Tier-1 FP, etc.
The ability to digitally book ride reservations, same day, as you go, with tons of same day availability... that's never ever been offered at WDW before. It has been offered at Disneyland -- and they charged for it. (the digital booking aspect has been charged at Disney for several years).
I believe that's exactly what people with a strict budget will end up doing.I get up about 8am...or later..and I am dam_ tired of learning new things over and over...and talk about cost...AP's ,tix ,food ,transportation from airport,Genie...up charge...you are guessing at $20 it may be much more....As a DVC owner who takes 8-12 people every other year...this hurts....will just have to skip YS or Cali Grill maybe eat in villa more,go less often...or the relatives will have to pay more....
If you were only getting 1-2 true FPs for free then you didn't know how to properly use FP+. My FP+ experience has been damn near perfect every trip. I don't expect a vastly superior experience because there's not much room for improvement over what my past experiences have been. And being able to *choose* a time slot instead of taking whatever is available next works much better for *me*.If someone is happy with getting only 1-2 true FPs per day for "free" instead of getting 4-5 true FPs per day for $15, they are perfectly entitled to that opinion. I'm not shocked.
I am saying, the fee is for a vastly superior experience.

And now I have to pay extra.
Except that's what I've gotten for free on all my past FP+ tripsWell thats' $125 per person for 5 days worth of fastpasses for all rides and what hopefully will be no long lines at all for you. Not ideal, I agree, but not awful.
At Epcot, you could only get 1 out of Soarin, Test Track and Frozen.
I think we found your problemafter riding Soarin on the day of the trip with my 5pm FP
I think we found your problem
This is something that I've been pondering. The new system doesn't seem to work as well at Epcot. We'd still only have 1 tier 1 attraction. If there are 2 paid attractions (maybe TT and Frozen) then everyone will be trying to get Soarin' as their first Genie pick. I can't see people booking Figment, then LWtL, then Nemo, then Soarin', then 3 Caballeros. The other attractions would have shorter lines,, so it wouldn't make sense to book anything else. A good number of people would enter at opening, book a reservation for Soarin', wait in the standby line another tier 1 ride, then do the other less crowded rides. If everyone is booking Soarin' starting at 7am, will it be booked into the evening or even sold out? I suppose we could skip adding on Genie for our Epcot days, but then we wouldn't get any passes.
We're not talking about a downgraded experience compared to *someone else*. We're talking about a downgraded experience compared to *our own* past experiences.I already admitted cost is a very valid reason not to be excited. It’s just about the only significant reason.
But complaining about the cost is a bit useless to me. Anyone who can’t afford park hoppers has a downgraded experience compared to someone who can afford it. Anyone who can’t afford signature meals has a downgraded experience compared to someone who can afford them. Anyone who can’t afford VIP tours, deluxe accommodations, etc.
Realistically, though, that's not the choice. That’s not true at all.
Given a choice of FOP immediately, skipping the Queue, or spending an extra 15 minutes to see the queue, I’d like to see the queue.

Given a choice of FoP immediately, skipping the queue, or spending an extra 1.5 hours to see the queue, would you still like to see the queue?
