FYI

I just called HIFS about their Entertainment rate of $99 to find out if a Disney Club card with the Entertainment logo on the back would be acceptable upon check in. I was told no. You must have an Entertainment card to get that rate.

It would have been nice to be able to use my Disney CLub membership, but the good thing is you can get Entertainment books at half price and no shipping!

I was told it was ok as long as the logo on the back of the card. I would call back and make sure. I must tell you though the week I had enquired about did not have any entertainment rate available.

Wow! Where can you get them at 1/2 price? I've heard about the $10 off & free s/h deal, but not the 1/2 price deal... at least not this early in the year.

Hi...I also contacted HIFS to inquire about using the entertainment book discount. Was told it wasn't available. Curious, I logged onto www.eyeoncredit.com which offers $10 off the books and also lists the participating hotels. For 2003, HIFS wasn't included, although 110 other orlando area hotels were. Has anyone else been able to use their entertainment card this year at HIFS?

I'm sure they only designate a certain number of rooms each week at the Entertainment rate, so maybe that rate is sold out for the week you inquired about. We'll be there March 16-24 which is 8 nights so I thought maybe that rate would not be available the entire tiime so I specifically asked whether the rate would change mid-week and she had me hold for a minute and said, No, we have the entertainment rate available each of those nights.

I'm not sure why HIFS is not listed on the Entertainment site, maybe they are new to the program or maybe they have dropped the program after a certain date. They have quoted me the $99 rate, so I can't imagine they will charge me more when I get there will they? Hmmm, maybe I'll call them again just to confirm and see what the story is. I'll be sure to post whatever I find out.

As for the half off rate for the entertainment book...you are right. When I bought my book, I thought it was $30 and I paid $15...when in fact the Massachusetts book is $25 so I got $10 off when I paid $15. Sorry for the mis-information.

I just called HIFS, but the reservation clerk didn't really know why HIFS doesn't appear on the Entertainment website. I asked her about the Entertainment Rate and she confirmed that all I need to bring is my Entertainment card....I know this doesn't really answer the question as to why other's have not been able to get the same rate, but at least I feel better knowing that my $99 rate will be valid when I get there!

For those of you who have tried to get that rate but couldn't, I would call again and see if you can get that rate for even part of your stay. If they put in your dates into the system and the entertainment rate wasn't available on the first date of your stay, then it might not have come up for the remaining dates, when in fact it is available.....just a thought.

After reading your post....I called HIFS (20 minutes ago) and asked if the Entertainment rate was available the week of 3/22-3/29 which I had previously booked at a 115. rate about 5 months ago. It was available and they changed my rate to 99.50. In addition I added a pizza party (Compliments of McFrugal on another board- THANKS) onto the reservation. Imagine saving 105.00, free food and GOING TO WDW. Does it really get any better? THANKS ALL - (53 DAYS!) / John :D:D

hi
I booked HIFS for Aug 23-31 2003. Entertainment rate was not available(which I asked for 1st)(got 129 rate from orlando magic card though) . The very nice clerk told me to try back in a month or so and keep trying . They only allot so many rooms to the various discounts and she said I might be able to change it to a lower rate if someone cancels. She said a lot of people book rooms all over especially at resorts that don't require downpayments and then wait for deals onsite or at another resort and then cancel.

ppd14,
I feel exactly the same! It really doesn't get much better (until I am actually AT WDW!) Before I heard about the entertainment rate, I had a rate of $139. I had tried everything to get it lower, but figured it was a peak time for them and never imagined I'd get such a great deal. Then I also got the free pizza dinner that you mentioned.

When I first started planning this trip I was determined to try a new hotel that we hadn't stayed at before, but the great rate and free food really makes this a deal that we can't pass up!

Now let's just hope we have lots of great weather in March!!!

uwbadger29,
I do not know if the rate is good but just call and ask. I didn't expect it during the normal spring break period. I am glad I called. The number is 877-387-5437.

Do you actually have to have the entertainment card at the time that you ask for the rate or just by the time you show up at the hotel? (Do they ask for a identification pin number or anything?)

Search is down. Can anyone tell me what foods are on the breakfast buffet?

I have seen many folks post that the Kidsuites will sleep 7. On some hotel booking sites it claims 6. Which is true?

Thanks!

Belle5,

I booked at the entertainment rate for the second week of March, and they did not require the card while I was on the phone. They just said to be sure to present it at check-in. I was a little nervous about the phone reservation, so I called back and asked them to mail me a hard copy confirmation, which they agreed to with no problem.

At the same time, I also asked about the rooms, because I had also read that there was only room for 6, and that some people said there wasn't a third bed in the kids room. The reservation clerk confirmed that for the King Kids suite, there is a King bed in the bedroom, a queen (or maybe double) pull out sleeper in the living room, and then 2 bunkbeds and a murphy-style fold out bed in the kids room. I think maybe some people have stayed and just haven't noticed the murphy bed. We have three kids so I wanted to be sure it was available.

The booking sites might be knocking it down 1 to be on the safe side, because I don't think it would sleep 7 adults comfortably. From what friends of mine who have stayed there have said, the bunk beds would be cramped for large adults.

If I remember correctly, I think the bunk beds were not quite twin size. They were fine for my kids, but would definitely be small for a large adult. Also, the roll away bed literally rolls away into the wall, so you might not notice it if you don't need to use it.

I just booked a room at HIFS for five nights in late April/Early May. They quoted me a rate of $172 per night. I asked for the Entertainment Card rate and got a rate of $86 for their kidsuite.

While I thought that the bunk beds were pretty much standard, the kids' murphy bed is very small. My DD was a tall 6 at the time and just fit. My teenage girl was comfortable enough in the bunk, and my teen boys shared the sofa bed. (Glad that I got the king!)

Maybe I missed it in the previous posts, but was the question ever answered about if the Entertainment card logo on the back of the Disney Club card is enough to get the discount, or do you have to have a true Entertainment Club card?

Thanks!

When I called HIFS, they told me that the Entertainment logo on the back of the Disney Club card was NOT sufficient. I was told that I must have an Entertainment card.
