I am going to Orlando on June 27th flying from Gatwick. I know Virgin do a number of different entertainment systems on their different flights - some have nintendo, others not. Some have 14 Movie channels, while some have 8. Their new system apparently has a Juke Box with 45 CDs on it!

What's the Gatwick to Orlando route like?

Thanks.

Depends on the aircraft they are using at the time but it is usually the older 8 channel films and no games setup. They tend to use the older planes on the Orlando route as it is 95% holiday makers not business travellers.

There was a thread recently that suggested they would be refitting the orlando route next year.

We flew out to Orlando with Virgin last October and I asked about the entertainment system then and was told by a stewardess on the gate that the Orlando flights use the older planes, and thus the old entertainment system, as a rule.

This wasn't always the case as we've flown to Orlando and Miami in the past and the planes had the newer system. Personally, having travelled with them regularly over the last 10 years, I feel that the service and the Virgin 'experience' isn't what it used to be.

Still, it won't stop you from having a great time.
