Hello,

Can someone please tell me what is the entertainment card everyone is talking about and how can I get one for my 2003 vacation?
I am planning my Feb/Mar 2003 vacation and maybe could use one for the resorts/hotels?

Thanks everyone these boards are super!!!

I ordered my book (2002) from my daughter's elementary for $25 this last September. It is a local discount book that comes with a card that is honored all over the US.
BUT, if you join the Disney Club, you automatically have the entertainment discount available to you, since the Disney Club Card has the entertainment logo on the bottom of the card. You would save the cost of buying two cards then. I f you were looking for a hotel that honors the entertainment discount, you could call the hotel and just ask what their entertainment rate is, and they will let you know if they honor the discount.
Otherwise, the entertainment book lists a lot of hotels and restaurants, etc that honor the discount.
You can buy the book at major bookstores too. Saw them at Barnes and Noble and Waldenbooks.
Or log onto entertainment. com and see when 2003 books would be available.
Just a note, the hotel I stayed at, CI&S at Calypso Cay Way was not listed in my book as a member, but when I called 800 number for reservations, I asked and they said they were. I got a great hotel for 39.50 per night.

I, too, order my book from my son's elementary school. The Entertainment book can also be bought at www.entertainment.com. The 2002 book is for sale now and will do you no good because of the date of your trip. Wait until September and purchase the 2003 book. It is loaded with great coupons for your particular area and well worth the $25.

Disney Club is 39.95 regular rate for one year. A discounted rate is available to entertainment card holders for 31.95. Call 1-800-654-6347 and use source code: EAD2 to get entertainment discount. I believe you said you had a 2002 card, so this advertisement was in the 2002 entertainment book

I got mine for 29.95 through my human resources dept, they sent me an application with a code on it, and I called this 800# and got one. Don't remember that code.

Just examined my Disney Club Card, logo is actually on the back of the card, not the front. Still, it is an entertainment card just the same as what you get when you buy the entertainment book. The big difference the DC card won't get you local pizza discounts , etc like a local entertainment card would.
I also saved big using my DC card renting a car from National. I paid 230.70 for 10 day rental of an economy. That with all taxes, everything. Used Disney Club members free weekend day coupon, plus 20% off rental price. Just the ride to and from the airport would have cost me around 100 bucks, taxi or towncar. So for another $130 I had a car to drive to the parks, to the beach, restaurants, grocery store etc.

However, the DC Entertainment Logo is not good in Orlando! So, you Will need the Entertainment Book to get Orlando discounts!

For our trip last year, I ordered the Orlando Entertainment book online from entertainment.com We saved quite a bit on all sorts of things.

Oops, I had heard you could use your DC card just like the entertainment card from previous posters awhile back. I had both, so when the hotel wanted to see my entertainment discount, I just pulled out my entertainment card.
Now, the entertainment logo on the back of the DC card would not get you local discounts in Orlando like at the restaurants, activities, etc, but it should get you your hotel discount, since the hotel chain is a national vendor.

Anybody have any experience using the DC as an entertainment discount card for hotel rooms, maybe rental cars?

Just read on a thread in the budget board that only in WDW area and Orlando that you cannot use the Disney Club card for your entertainment discount. You have to have an entertainment card.
I am soooo sorry for posting this suggestion. I could have swore that I had read this suggestion a few months back.

Anyway around, both cards can save you a ton of money.

Having both cards saved me just
