Hi ALL!

Just got my Hotels at Halfprice 2004 catalogue from Entertainment Publications bought for me by my travel club.

After reviewing the Hotels we visit in Orlando area, it appears that the 50% Discount is GONE for the following hotels we use;
Swan & Dolphin, Universal :Hard Rock, Portofino Bay, and Royal Pacific Resort.
Also some of our favorites in the Northeast have disappeared.

I read on a thread on this site and at Mousesaver.com that Disney is limiting the "room only" discount and trying to force Room Packages only.
Maybe the big Hotel chains are going to follow suite.

Universal Studios is up for sale so that may have caused the change at their Resorts.

The Entertainment 2003 discount I have is still good till12/31/03

Has anyone purchased a 2004 Entertainment Book for the Orlando area and reveiwed the favourites?

ENJOY!!!

" THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

I purchased the Orlando Entertainment book and I am very, VERY disappointed with it!!

The hotel rates are ridiculous.. As an example, when I called Amerisuites the ENTERTAINMENT rate for the 2 Queen beds was $104 per night.. On one of the hotel booking sites (I think it was HotelKingdom.com) the same room was either $53 or $55 a night (can't remember off-hand which price was the King and which was the Queens)..

The car rental coupons and codes weren't any better.. Many of the Alamo won't even go through - and when they do, it's higher than rates I've received WITHOUT the Ent. coupons..

There were some buy-one-get-one-free for McDonald's and such, but I don't plan on eating at McDonald's on my vacation..

Personally, I feel like I wasted the $25 and $5 s&h fee.. :(

I have the 2004 Entertainment book for Orlando and all 3 of the Universal Resorts are listed in the back as participating in the program. I also have reservations at the Royal Pacific for November of this year at the Entertainment rate.

However, I was concerned that HIFS has stopped taking ENT reservations.

Question for C. Ann:

I DO plan on eating fast food on my vacation at the end of September, are there lots of different fast food coupons (i.e. McDonalds, Blimpie, Subway, Burger King, any fast food really) and are they good for ALL say like McDonalds in Orlando area or do they have certain addresses on them? (the back of the coupons usually tell you where they are good at)

Also is there a buy one get one free coupon for Jungle Jim's?

Trying to figure out if it's worth the $25.00 to buy the book. I really need some cheap eats to make this trip happen.

Any info. is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Okay..let's see... McD's say they are good for ALL participating McD's in: Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties.. So that's probably a safe bet for all of them.. There are: Buy1Get1 Breakfast Bagel; Buy1Get1 Chicken Sandwich; Buy1Get1 Big Mac..

There's Domino's Pizza.. Buy1Get1Pizza (up to $11) - carry out only.. Looks like most - if not all - locations in WDW areas..

Burger King has Buy1Get1 on their sandwiches and such too..

There are some Buy1Get1 for Dairy Queen as well..

Popeye's has a Buy a 3-pc. meal - get a 2-pc. free..
-------------------------------------

When are you going? I'll probably dispose of this book (or sell it on eBay if it's allowed) right after our trip this December..

Hope that info helps! I'm SOOOOOOOO disappointed over the hotels and car rentals and such.... :(

Great!! Thanks for the info. I have someone mailing me the 2003 book (they say they only used two coupons from it and both were sit down dinners) so I'm hoping all the fast food coupons are still in there, if not then I'll just order the 2004 book, I'm going at the end of September 2003 and will probably go again before the 2004 book expires. Thanks a lot, you gave me the information I was looking for.

Glad I could help! Any other coupons you need to know about? If so, just say the word..;)

I don't have my 2004 book yet and am looking for the National $20 off a weekly rental coupon code so that I can make my reservation now. If you have the 2004 book, would you please let me know what the code is?

I'm sending you a PM because I don't know if I'm allowed to post the codes from the E-book here - okay?
